Did you know at Ki we make kefir super fresh every week! It’s made to order just for you. The cows are milked every Sunday, this milk then goes into fermentation on Monday, the kefir is then bottled and on your doorstep by Thursday! You cant get more farm to table than that!

“Milk culturing is an art”

We have been fermenting milk for over 8 years, and selling it commercially for 6, so have learnt all the do’s and don’t of kefir making, the art of culturing! Our founder shares her knowledge in our workshops, and brings your the confidence to make your own kefir. If this is something you fancy turning your hand to, the why not join us. It’s almost time for cows to be back on the fields. You can see the happy girls here roaming the Pevensey Levels, a nature conservation site in East Sussex. They are housed in doors in the winter to protect the soil but still fed a full grass fed diet.

As a kefir company we have the responsibility to source our only ingredient (milk) from the best source possible. Which is why we chose hook, we wanted to work with a grass fed dairy. Why? Well grass fed dairy is higher in nutrients, the omega 3, vitamins a & k, calcium and magnesium. They are also 10 minutes down the road from us, minimising our carbon footprint having to incorporate delivery for our weekly supply.

We are all about health and creating the best nutritional kefir possible to actually make a difference to your health.

Who else is on the spring countdown? These blue skies are a little reminder it’s on the way. However we aren’t quite there yet and we feel your pain in craving the warmer temperament on our skin, with the rays of sun. Often at the tail end of winter our bodies can struggle a little and our immunity can take a hit.

Winter means fewer fresh, seasonal veggies limited fruit options, and no vitamin d from the sun which can sometimes leave us lacking in essential vitamins and minerals, meaning lower energy and weakened immune system.

We always encourage people to introduce kefir in these colder months to help bring some nutritional goodness to your body. It’s packed with probiotics, calcium, B vitamins, and magnesium and therefor can help to fill in those nutritional gaps and keeps your immune system strong.
