Reflections after watching Wicked: For Good 💚🩷
I’m often reminded that friendships are not “extras” in life- they’re part of our emotional foundation. We talk a lot about self-care, boundaries, and coping tools, but one of the most powerful protective factors for mental health is the presence of healthy, supportive friendships.
Friendships give us something we can’t get from self-reliance alone: connection. When we have people who listen without trying to fix, who celebrate our progress, and who sit with us through the messy moments, our nervous systems actually regulate more easily. We feel safer, seen, and less alone in our struggles.
Good friends remind us of who we are beyond our stress, our roles, and our responsibilities. Sometimes the right friend can mirror back strength and worth when we can’t see it ourselves.
Investing in friendships is investing in your mental health.
Check in on your people. Reach out when you need support. Build the relationships that feel grounding and nourishing. ✨
