Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing within school matters.

Some pupils are quietly navigating anxiety, relational trauma, bereavement, emotional regulation difficulties, or a growing lack of confidence. Often, these struggles show up in behaviour, withdrawal, or difficulty engaging with learning.

POP Therapy partners with schools to provide on-site Play Therapy delivered by therapists trained to Level 7 postgraduate standards. This means children can access specialist therapeutic support in a familiar environment, without needing to travel outside of school.

If you are a SENCO or part of a pastoral team and would like to explore how we can support your pupils, you are welcome to book a Discovery Chat for Schools/Organisations here:

Meet another POPStar - Narelle!

Narelle is our Play Therapist supporting children and families in Chesham, Amersham and surrounding areas across Buckinghamshire.

Her professional background includes a degree in Psychology and several years working in youth offending services, including in London. Through this work, she developed a strong interest in early intervention and supporting children before difficulties escalate.

She also worked in Family Group Conferencing, ensuring children’s views were represented within complex family and safeguarding processes. Today, she supports children who may be experiencing anxiety, low confidence, emotional regulation difficulties or the impact of challenging life events.

You can read more about Narelle’s journey into play therapy here:

Narelle currently has availability for Wednesday after school sessions from 3.30pm at The King's Church Chesham, and she can also arrange to deliver sessions within your child’s school where appropriate.

The start of a new term can bring a mix of emotions for children and families.

Often, when a child is struggling, they don't immediately have the words to tell us why. Instead, we see it in their behaviour, their mood, or their sleep.

If you feel your child needs a little extra support, we'd love to have a chat about how POP can help.

When words feel a bit too difficult to find, bridges the gap.

At POP Therapy, we help children across Buckinghamshire express difficult feelings and experiences they may not yet have the vocabulary for. By using toys and creative tools they know best, play becomes the words through which children feel heard.

When the school day ends, children need a space to play and feel supported.

Our dedicated spaces at Aylesbury Vineyard and The King’s Church Chesham provide a calm, neutral environment away from the pressures of the classroom. Here, your child can leave the school day behind and find a safe "sanctuary" to express themselves through the power of play.
