Yesterday, I asked my husband, ._ekong to imagine how different his life would be if his parents couldn’t afford his glasses. He’s been wearing high-powered lenses since childhood, and without them, he wouldn’t have been able to learn to read or write—he can barely see without them. We concluded that his life would be very different to what it is now.

In partnership with the Eye Foundation and Awesome Treasures Summer Camp 2024, were able to provide free eye tests for adults and children in Lagos. Out of the 163 tested, only 48 had normal vision; the others are now receiving treatments ranging from prescription glasses to glaucoma and cataract surgeries.

Oaks Health Foundation is partnering with an organisation providing an educational summer camp for children living in the slums of Lagos.

In collaboration with the Eye Foundation, we are providing free eye screening, glasses and treatment of various eye conditions, including surgeries for the summer camp children and their parents.
Your donation of £30 will fund a cataract surgery or 2 pterygium surgeries, and a donation of just £10 could fund up to 12 pairs of reading glasses.

The Eye Foundation has greatly subsidized these treatments, so please help us reach as many of these young people and their families as possible with life-changing treatments.
