As we continue to grow and evolve from what was a Friday kick about to a team, we will be doing our best to support and help fundraise for a charity.
We have chosen to support Hector's House
Hectors House is a su***de prevention and mental health awareness charity based locally.
More information about the great work they do is on their page and website

To raise awareness of the work we do, we attend a number of local events and festivals. Keep an eye out for our new crowdfunded horsebox!

A more detailed report from the Ducks team in yesterdays tournament

Mindset United Ducks started off their tournament with a resounding 5-0 victory. Although it took a little while to find our feet in the game both Kai and Ben found their shooting boots with some wonderful finishes and Lydon providing creativeness in midfield.

In the second game the team came up against a defensive team but once the team got into their passing groove they were broken down with excellent finishes from Ben, Kai and a long range effort from Sean with the game ending 6-0.

The Ducks then came up against an energetic young team in the third match. In a fairly even game The Ducks were thwarted by some excellent goalkeeping. However the team were resolute at the other end with some great defending from Andy and Mario restricting the opposition to long range efforts only. The final score was 0-0 which was an impressive effort!

With an excellent run of results the team progressed to the final where they met the energetic and young team again. It was a remarkably even game until a tactical GK switch saw Lydon reprise his outfield role. Lydon then popped up to score a vital goal to break the deadlock. The team then managed to see out the game frustrating the opposition at every opportunity with some resolute defending from Sean/Andy and saves from Mario together with a bit of tactical time wasting……

So Mindset United Ducks ended up Champions and took home the winners medals. 12 goals scored without conceding (5 clean sheets!) which was all the more impressive without a recognised goalkeeper and 4 different players taking the gloves.

Ben ended up as the team top goal scorer with 6, Kai grabbing 4 with Lydon and Sean getting one apiece.

Well done all and top performances by all!

Yesterday morning we had been invited to enter two teams in the Wycombe Wanderers Multicultural Football Tournament in Flackwell Heath.
With the teams finishing as Winners and Third.

Mindset United and the other Mindset United Ducks. Both teams had the bear 6 in each team so we knew it would be tough going with no subs.

Reports of the teams mornings are below.
Well done to all involved with such a great event.

Mindset United started out with a 2-0 win with 2 well deserved goals coming from Jason in quick succession and a solid performance from Rob and Matt at the back. Next up we suffered a 3-1 loss against a young energetic side with Martin getting goal from not far off just inside their half with a powerful strike that hit the back of the net. In our third game we came away with another 3-1 loss to a well organised team with Paul taking on a few players close to the goal line and slotting it home at a tight angle from a corner taken by Martin. In the fourth game we faced Mindset United Ducks, both sides dug deep, playing some good football and creating many chances but denied at both ends by some excellent goal keeping - game ended with a 0-0 draw. We qualified for the third / forth place play off, facing up against a team we previously lost 3-1 to. We went into the game knowing that we wanted to at least do better than the 3-1 loss from the previous game. The game was pretty even until about half way through when a ball was slotted through by Rob to Paul who placed it in the bottom left corner. We were happy to try and see out the game with a 1-0 win but with about 3 minutes to go, they levelled it with an excellent strike. Our heads didn't drop and we didn't want it to go to penalties! With about 1 minute left, our keeper Allan (who pulled off some amazing saves today!), threw an awesome ball down to Paul who took a touch and fired it home to give us a 2-1 win. An excellent effort all morning from Allan, Rob, Matt, Paul, Martin and Jason.

Having got to the final undefeated (5-0, 6-0, 0-0, 0-0) Mindset United Ducks managed to come out victorious and overall champions with Lydon getting the winner in a stunning 1-0 victory. 5 clean sheets, 12 goals scored, superb performances all around and good fun at the same time. Well done all!

Goalscorers:

As we have two teams playing in a tournament tomorrow, the expectation was we would have lower numbers for tonight’s session.
That’s not the Mindset way though, 26 still turned up and enjoyed the Friday nights football in the rain.

Today is mental health day, we try to do our bit with a Friday night session.
34 men stepped onto the pitch — but this isn’t just about football. It’s about showing up when life gets heavy. It’s about choosing connection over isolation. Every pass, every laugh, every breath reminds us we’re not alone. This is Mindset United — where the goal is more than a win. It’s mental strength, support, and brotherhood.”

“Every Friday, we lace up and show up — not just to play, but to push ourselves, to grow stronger in mind and body. 22 men this evening proved that progress isn’t just physical, it’s mental. Every session is a step toward becoming the best version of ourselves. Together, we rise. Together, we win. This is Mindset United.”
