Today marks Fiona’s 10-year anniversary working at The Manor, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as part of our family.

Our very thoughtful kitchen team surprised her with a special celebration cream tea to mark the occasion! 💐☕🍰

🎉 Today at The Manor, we stepped back into the fabulous 50s! 🎶
Our staff went all-out with retro outfits, classic 50s hits filled the home, and we tucked into traditional fish and chips for lunch. 🐟🍟

The residents had a wonderful day — and we’re pretty sure the staff secretly enjoyed it just as much! 😉✨
We love any excuse to dress up and bring smiles to our lovely residents’ faces. 💛

✨ Another fun-filled week wrapped in sparkles, glitter, crackers and snowflakes! ❄️✨
We enjoyed quizzes, games, and a wonderful music session — with some early Christmas song practice too. 🎶🎄
Everyone loved listening to the beautiful pieces by André Rieu, and now we’re all set to decorate our Christmas tree in Aylsham Church this week. 🎄✨

Craft Activity Group
Our craft group has been transformed into a festive Santa’s Grotto this week! Everyone has been busy creating beautiful decorations in preparation for dressing the Christmas tree.

Singing & Music Group
A music session featured Joe Loss and his Orchestra, which proved to be a big hit with the group—lots of smiles all round

🎉 Afternoon Bingo Fun! 🎉

We had a wonderful afternoon playing Bingo — full of laughter and friendly competition. It was lovely to see some new faces joining in (even if they’re a bit Facebook shy 😉).

A big thank you to our amazing Activities Coordinator for organising all the fun and games our residents enjoy!💛

Activities Update

The residents were getting into the festive spirit last week by making Christmas tree decorations — this time, Christmas jumpers! Everyone enjoyed getting creative and sharing ideas for their designs.

We also had a fascinating slideshow and talk covering a variety of topics, including the story behind Bonfire Night, the life and career of actress Hayley Mills, and some interesting facts about the historic town of Colchester — did you know it was once the capital of England?

In our singing and music group, we listened to some classic songs by The Carpenters, which brought back many lovely memories and sing-along moments.

🎉 Happy 106th Birthday to our amazing resident, Megan! 🎂✨

Today we celebrated Megan’s incredible milestone with a lovely sherry party — complete with cake, laughter, and the company of her wonderful friends and family. 🥂💐

Megan looked absolutely fantastic, and everyone joined in to raise a glass of wine at lunchtime to toast her special day. Here’s to 106 years of joy, wisdom, and warmth — happy birthday, Megan! 💖🎈

🎶 A Fun Afternoon at The Manor! 🎶

Today we were delighted to welcome Tony Barker, a well-established and popular solo musician and vocal entertainer, to The Manor!

Everyone had a fantastic time singing along to classic hits from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, with plenty of smiles, clapping, and a few dance moves too! 💃🕺

Thank you, Tony, for such a wonderful Country and Western Singalong — our residents absolutely loved it! 🤠🎸💛

Christmas Cheer Begins in the Craft Group!
Our craft group has been feeling festive — bobble hats and scarves are already being made to decorate our Christmas tree!

During Armchair Travel, we journeyed to Luxembourg, once known as the “City of Roses.” Residents also enjoyed a fun picture quiz, guessing the names of local Aylsham stately homes.

A familiar face from history also sparked great discussion — Edith Cavell. We read about her courageous actions during World War I and reflected on her legacy, as this year marks 110 years since her ex*****on.

We also had a morning reminiscing and sharing old photographs. It was a truly heart-warming session, filled with laughter, memories, and wonderful stories from times gone by.
