Meet your practitioner…
Hello, my name is Amelia and I’m the face behind AML Medical Aesthetics! I’ve been practicing in aesthetics for one year now and have just realised I’ve never properly introduced myself on this page.
I’m a step mother to three wonderful children and mam of two naughty dachshunds who keep me busy! In my free time (of which there’s very little🤣) you’ll find me out walking the fells and in the depths of renovation of our new home…I’m a real home bird and love nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa with my dogs and a good book next to the log burner.
I’m a registered nurse and have a career spanning over 10 years within the NHS, with 8 years working within the Intensive Care Unit. I was lucky enough to receive a promotion in 2022 and have the opportunity to train to be an Advanced Critical Care Practitioner (ACCP), a job role very few have heard of. An ACCP is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner who’s specialised for the Intensive Care Unit. I completed my MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice in January this year, where I completed level 7 modules in clinical examination, consultation/history taking and anatomy & physiology alongside biological sciences. In my day job I perform invasive line insertions so I’m particularly au fait with a needle! The knowledge and skills I have built from my profession are transferable to my aesthetic career, allowing me to provide safe, evidence-based and patient centred treatments to you all! I have a genuine passion for knowledge and being completely honest, I’m a bit of a science/data geek, I love understanding everything down to a cellular level! In addition to this, I’m an Independent Nurse Prescriber, meaning I can prescribe safely for all my clients. I still work full time within my NHS role.
In my first year in aesthetics I have built a solid foundation, completing my foundation botox/dermal filler, polyneucleotides, skin boosters and Microneedling. I believe it’s paramount to build a strong foundation, and master these skills, before training in every service possible. In the upcoming months I have some further training courses booked and will be offering new services to you all!
