This afternoon we went on a very interesting and cultural 'visit to Malta' with Jan. Some of us have very fond memories of visiting Malta and living there. It was lovely to be transported to the 'gem of the Mediterranean' and reminisce together.🎤😊✈️☀️

Yesterday in 'gardening club' a few of us planted various vegetable seeds, which we are looking forward to seeing grow. We also looked at past flowers we planted in our garden. 😁🌱🥒🥦🥬🍈🌷🌹

Some of us visited Farrington's Farm Shop & Cafe this lovely sunny afternoon. We enjoyed a scenic drive getting there and had a fabulous cup of tea & cake with great friendly service. This was followed by shopping in their farm shop & gift shop as well as saying hello to their curious cows. Lovely day & happy people 😊🌞🍰☕️🐄❤️

Happy St. Patrick's Day from all of us at SH! We celebrated in style with a lovely Irish lamb stew & Guiness chocolate pudding, while listening to Irish folk music.
In the afternoon some of us continued the Irish celebrations with a themed Irish bingo & quiz, and lucky winners receiving chocolate gold coins. 🥳🍻😁

Some of our residents finished off the week making paper butterflies, bees and ladybirds with Margaret (volunteer) in arts & crafts. These have been stuck onto our colourful spring inspired flower project, which is now finished and hanging up in our dining room. We cannot wait for warmer days and sunshine 🌞🌺🌻🌼🌹🐞🦋🐝

A BIG thank you to the 5 firefighters from 'Avon Fire & Rescue Service' who came to visit us today and deliver a talk about fire safety and the important work firefighters do in and around the community. We also had the opportunity to get up close with the fire engine and see all their equipment as well as ask them lots of questions. We all really enjoyed and appreciated their visit 🚒👩‍🚒🙂🙏

Also this week our lovely Jill celebrated her birthday with friends & family & of course cake! 😁🎂🥂

Lindsey (volunteer) took us on a excellent guided tour of Venice, Italy, from the comfort of our lounge chairs ✈️🚣‍♂️🍕🙂🎤

And we really enjoyed 'Magic Moments' with talented singer Elouise this morning. She had us all dancing and singing along 🎼🎤💃🕺☺️

We just love it when The Holburne Museum come to run and deliver a workshop at SH. Today some of us took part in lino printing on textiles inspired by 'Dame Zandra Rhodes', a pioneering English fashion and textile designer known for her bold prints, theatrical designs, and dressing royalty and celebrities. Great fun and lovely designs were created, I think she would be impressed...😊🎨🫟🤩

This week the 'gardening club' got active and enthusiastic planting lots of begonia and sunflower seeds in our potting shed. We are looking forward to seeing them grow...🌻🪷🌱

The 'baking club' also made traditional Welsh cakes, 'pice ar y maen', in honour of St. David's Day, celebrating Welsh culture and community spirit. Our residents, and especially our Welsh ladies, were more than happy to assist and taste the finished cakes 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳🍪🐉 Happy St. David's Day (on Sunday 1st March)! ❤️
