Tone Your Toppers Like a Pro

Sometimes your topper just needs a little tweak, not a full recolour. A wash in toner can completely refresh her shade and make her feel brand new.

Here’s how we do it at Betsy HQ, and you can too:

1. Add ½ litre of tepid water to a bowl or sink.
2. Mix in 1 tablespoon of toner and whisk until evenly blended.
3. Dip your topper into the mix and swish gently so every strand is covered.
4. Watch closely. She might only need a few moments to reach that perfect tone.
5. Once she looks just right, rinse thoroughly and leave to dry naturally.

If she turns out a little darker or stronger than expected, simply wash her with original Head & Shoulders shampoo, condition, and she’ll lighten up beautifully.

What exactly is a bad hair day? A couple of weeks ago, I had one of those mornings where nothing looked right. Up until then, I’d been happily switching between my gorgeous Auburn and Blonde Grace Hair Toppers and then suddenly, I couldn’t stand either of them. Classic symptoms.

It took me right back to the days when I had a full head of my own hair , I’d get the same feeling, grab the scissors or hair dye, and make a change just to feel different. So that’s exactly what I did. I gave my Blonde Grace a soft brunette tone, and just like that, I was smitten again.

Turns out, it wasn’t my hair misbehaving… it was my brain quietly asking for a little hair reboot. BBx 🩷
