Baby massage can help soothe colic and tummy discomfort. I have had many parents use the colic routine and it has given their babies so much relief.
Colic and minor digestive issues are common in the first months of life and can be challenging both for babies and parents. Infant massage is a valuable ally in these situations: with gentle, specific strokes, it helps relieve abdominal tension and supports the natural functioning of the intestines.
In IAIM classes, parents learn simple routines they can practice at home, turning a moment of discomfort into one of closeness. With hands gently massaging the tummy and a reassuring voice, the baby not only receives physical relief but also emotional comfort—feeling that they are not alone in their distress.
Many parents share how massage has become a practical tool to ease colic-related crying spells, as well as a ritual that strengthens their bond. The benefits are not only digestive, but also relational, emotional, and nurturing.
Through massage, every stroke becomes a message: “I am here with you, I welcome you, I accompany you.”
