Benefits of Combining Sauna Sessions with Cold Dips

There are a number of health benefits to be enjoyed - The combination of the cold water and warm sauna might sound intimidating at first, but this is something we partake in all year round.
What’s not to love about giving yourself a mental well being boost, reducing aches and pains, or boosting your immune system in these colder months!
Alternating between hot and cold temperatures (the "Nordic cycle") is known as contrast therapy. This practice maximizes the individual benefits of each method:
Enhanced Blood Circulation:
The rapid constriction in the cold and dilation in the heat creates a "vascular pump" effect, which improves overall blood flow, delivering oxygen and nutrients more efficiently to tissues.
Faster Recovery: The combination is particularly effective for muscle recovery, with some studies finding it reduces muscle soreness more effectively than heat or cold alone.
Synergistic Mental Health Effects: The combined experience of an adrenaline rush from the cold and the deep relaxation from the heat provides a significant mood boost and helps build mental resilience.

⭐️Yoga Sauna Swim ⭐️
Join us for a rejuvenating yoga, sauna, and wild swim experience Wednesdays 10am-12noon.
Spaces: October 8th, 15th and 29th. November, December dates released NOW online.
As the lake cools down (currently 13 degrees) really start to experience the benefits of cold water wild swimming and the boost in circulation and well being as you relax and unwind after yoga in the beautiful lake side wood-fired sauna.
Enjoy the experience with a friend. Our practice is suitable for all levels, including beginners, and is designed to create space, release tension, and leave you smiling.

New class starting Thursday 25th September with our lovely Kat.
Kat began her Yoga teacher journey in 2017, studying in India, Bali and the UK. She teaches Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Yoga Nidra.
She is certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists specialising in women’s health and supports women as a Menstruation Coach.
For Kat Yoga isn’t just postures on the mat but has become a way of life.
As a teacher, she combines her experiences and learnings with a warm, kind and open personality. She believes in the radical change that comes from resting, love and compassion. She creates a safe space in her classes enabling you to feel supported and encouraged to explore what is right for your own body.

11.15 - 12.15pm (Postnatal) mother and baby yoga followed by tea, biscuits and time to chat.
Fridays 11-12.15 Hatha Vinyasa (Suitable for all) Extended relaxation/meditation.
