Living with chronic pain isn’t a one size fits all 💚
Symptoms can look very different from person to person, may come & go also can change day to day. Some people experience a handful of these symptoms, others many of them. No two journeys are ever the same & that is okay!!
Chronic pain can be debilitating, affecting not just the body but energy levels, sleep, mood, focus & everyday life. It can make even the simplest tasks feel heavy & that’s something often unseen by the outside world.
I’m passionate about this because I live with Fibromyalgia myself. From the outside, I may look “okay” - I work, I show up & often appear to manage it well. Over time, I’ve built up some coping strategies that mostly work well for me. But these may not work for others.
There are still days when a flare-up arrives unexpectedly where my body feels heavy, sore or exhausted. Brain fog can creep in & exhaustion can affect me both mentally and physically. On those days, I remind myself to slow down, listen to my body & offer myself the same compassion I give to others.
Living with chronic pain has taught me resilience, patience whilst the importance of gentle self-care & that even on the harder days, I am doing enough.
While there is no cure, self-care can play an important role 🤍
Gentle therapies such as massage, holistic treatments or acupuncture may help ease certain symptoms for some people - supporting relaxation, helping the nervous system settle, easing tension & offering a moment of calm. These treatments are about support, not fixing.
If you live with chronic pain, this is your reminder to listen to your body, go gently, rest without guilt and seek support where you can. You are not lazy. You are not weak. You are doing the best you can 🫶🏻
If this resonates - you’re not alone ✨️
