Did you know scar tissue isn’t just skin-deep?
It can affect how you move, how your skin feels, and even how connected you feel to your body.

Scar therapy helps:
✨ Release tightness and restriction
✨ Improve circulation and mobility
✨ Soften tissue and reduce discomfort
✨ Restore body awareness and confidence

You can usually begin scar therapy from 8 weeks post-surgery, once your incision has fully closed and healed. Every gentle touch supports your recovery — inside and out. 💛

🎗 No One Faces Cancer Alone 🎗

If you’ve been touched by cancer — personally or through someone you love — please remember, you are not alone. 💕

is an incredible charity offering complementary therapies for people affected by cancer across Berkshire.
They provide a safe and supportive space to relax, heal, and find balance through treatments like Reflexology, Massage, Reiki, Acupuncture, Yoga, and Mindfulness. 🌸

Every second Monday, I volunteer at NHS Bracknell Healthspace, offering Scar Therapy and Reflexology sessions to support those on their healing journey.
It’s a privilege to be part of this wonderful charity and to witness how gentle touch and holistic care can bring comfort and calm. 💫

Together, we heal. 💗

🔎 Scar Aftercare – Why It Matters

Once your wound has closed, the healing process continues beneath the skin. The way you care for your scar during this stage will affect how it looks and feels long term.

Here are the key tools for effective scar management:

💧 Moisturising Creams

Keep skin hydrated

Reduce itching and tightness

Improve elasticity in the healing tissue

🩹 Silicone Pads

Create a breathable barrier over the scar

Help flatten and soften raised or red scars

Reduce the risk of excessive scar tissue forming

💎 Silicone Gel

Easy to apply and invisible once dry

Great for scars on visible areas like the face or neck

Can be used under clothing or makeup

✨ Tip: For best results, apply silicone gel or pads consistently for at least 12 hours a day over several months. The earlier you start (once the wound is fully closed), the better the outcome.

Scars are a natural part of healing, but with the right care, you can support smoother, softer, and less visible results. 🌸

Why MLD is So Important After Liposuction ✨

Liposuction shapes the outside, but it also puts stress on the inside. That’s where Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) comes in 💆‍♀️✨

🌿 What happens after liposuction?

Your lymphatic system becomes overloaded with excess fluid, waste products, and inflammation.

This leads to swelling, stiffness, tenderness, and sometimes fluid pockets (seromas).

Without proper care, scar tissue and fibrosis (hard, lumpy areas) may form, affecting your final results.

🌿 Possible complications without MLD:
⚠️ Excessive swelling that slows healing
⚠️ Fluid build-up (seromas) that may need draining
⚠️ Fibrosis & hard lumps, leaving uneven texture
⚠️ Prolonged bruising, discomfort & pain
⚠️ Delayed healing, increasing infection risk
⚠️ Poor scar formation

🌿 How does MLD help?
✔️ Stimulates your lymphatic system to clear waste & toxins
✔️ Speeds up healing after surgery
✔️ Reduces swelling, bruising & discomfort
✔️ Prevents seromas and fibrosis
✔️ Improves skin texture for smoother, more even results
✔️ Boosts immunity to lower infection risk
✔️ Helps you move and feel more comfortable during recovery

🌿 Plan ahead:
📅 Book your MLD sessions before your surgery so you’re prepared and organised. Supporting your body from day one makes recovery smoother and results better.

💜 Remember: Surgery is only half the journey — healing well is what makes your results last.

🌿 Reflexology & Cancer Care 🌿

Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery can leave the body and mind feeling exhausted. Reflexology offers a gentle, supportive approach that works alongside conventional care.

✨ Benefits may include:
💚 Deep relaxation to ease stress and anxiety
💚 Improved sleep and energy levels
💚 Relief from symptoms such as pain, nausea, or digestive discomfort
💚 Gentle support for the body’s natural healing processes

Reflexology does not replace medical treatment but beautifully complements it — providing comfort, calm, and a sense of balance during a challenging journey. 🌸

💆‍♀️ Every touch is tailored with care, respect, and understanding.

📌 Lipedema vs Lymphedema: Know the Difference

Many people confuse lipedema and lymphedema — but they’re very different conditions.

💎 Lipedema
▪️ A fat disorder, mostly in women
▪️ Symmetrical fat buildup (hips, thighs, legs — rarely the feet)
▪️ Painful, tender, easy bruising
▪️ Often triggered by hormones or genetics
▪️ Not caused by diet or lifestyle

💧 Lymphedema
▪️ Caused by damage or blockage in the lymphatic system
▪️ Swelling usually in one limb
▪️ Skin may feel tight or thick
▪️ Can result from surgery, cancer treatment, or infection
▪️ Needs lymphatic drainage / compression

🌿 MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) is highly beneficial for both conditions — helping reduce swelling, improve circulation, and support healing.

✨ If you’re struggling with either, you’re not alone — support and relief are available.
