Armistice Day at Mais House – A Moment of Reflection and Remembrance

This morning, our residents, families, and team came together in the dining room at Mais House RBL Nursing Home to honour Armistice Day with a heartfelt service of remembrance.

At 10:45am, we paused to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many, with readings, music, and a two-minute silence that brought a deep sense of unity and gratitude. The room was beautifully prepared, with poppies and tributes lovingly arranged to create a peaceful and respectful atmosphere.

It was especially moving to see residents and family members sharing time together, reminding us all of the importance of keeping these moments alive for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this service so special — your care and dedication truly shone through.

History came alive at Crowhurst Primary School

Two of our amazing residents from Mais House joined our driver Paul for a very special visit. The pupils are currently learning about World War II, so who better to share real-life stories than those who lived through it?

One of our residents even brought along a fascinating collection of personal artefacts and spoke about what it was like growing up in Britain during the War. The children were captivated, and it was a wonderful way to connect generations and bring history off the page.

A huge thank you to Crowhurst Primary School and their fantastic pupils for making us feel so welcome. We hope you enjoyed learning from experience as much as we enjoyed sharing it!

Trafalgar Day at Mais House

On Tuesday we honoured the bravery and legacy of those who served at the Battle of Trafalgar with a heartfelt service led by Rev Olivia.

Residents, staff, and guests came together in reflection and remembrance, celebrating courage, unity, and history.

Our wonderful residents shared stories, reminding us how history lives on through personal memories.

A powerful symbol of sacrifice, honour, and remembrance. At Mais House, we take time to reflect on those who gave everything—without ever being named.

On Monday, one of our lovely residents invited others to join her in sharing memories and raising a glass in tribute.

Moments like these remind us how deeply remembrance lives in our hearts.

🌾 Harvest Festival at Mais House 🌾

Today we celebrated our Harvest Festival with a heartwarming service led by Rev. Olivia — thank you for making it so special!

We proudly displayed the generous food donations collected for Bexhill & Battle Foodbanks , and we’re incredibly grateful to our amazing residents, staff, families, and the wonderful customers of Iceland Bexhill, where we hosted a collection box for two hours on Tuesday with the support of Bexhill Rotary and Retired Cllr Lynn Langlands !

Even Freya, our Registered managers dog came along to support!

The morning was filled with joyful singing, smiling faces, and cherished memories shared. 💛

🎶 A Musical Afternoon at Mais House! 🎶

We were delighted to welcome the incredibly talented Rosie Ann Page to Mais House, where she treated our residents to a beautiful selection of songs.
It was a heartwarming afternoon filled with music, smiles, and singalongs — our residents had a fantastic time joining in and enjoying every moment.
