My journey & my inspiration
Happy mum, happy baby has long been a motto of mine, since the day I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant and totally unprepared for the journey ahead.
The (then) love of my life left me and I lost a very close friendship.
I started a new job whilst 6 months pregnant then struggled with imposture syndrome and my confidence was chipped away to nearly nothing (by a small few ) over the past 4 years.
I relocated and moved into a house, that needed a lot of work to make it baby friendly.
I had to start a new life that wasn't part of my “plan” or how I ever imagined bringing a child into this world, and as a result, the feeling of grief and loss didn't leave me for a long time.
In the end, because I am only human, I burnt out! I was exhausted emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually and I had nothing left to give to anyone. If it wasn't for my friends and family that I frequently call “my village” and the happiness that my daughter gave me, I would not have recovered so quickly.
It is this recovery journey that I want to share with you in the form of WEYOU.
The past 5 years have been my hardest ever and I have learnt that, if I look after myself, I am better able to look after my daughter and enjoy the experience of motherhood. I am also able to better balance the demands of keeping my home tidy, my career on track, and maintaining meaningful relationships with my friends and family.
Happy mum, happy baby.
and like wise happy dad , happy baby.
