We are beyond proud of our client Ryan and their amazing peers! So far, they have raised over £600 for charity by creating a beautiful poem book filled with heartfelt poems written by each student. Their creativity and kindness never ceases to amaze us.🙌

Mental Health Awareness Week May 2023!
Ed seen in the photos below is one of our case managers and also occupational therapist who volunteers as Treasurer for Oban Pride.

During Mental Health Awareness Week 2023, Argyll Wellbeing Hub invited Oban Pride to support their week’s programme of events on the theme of ‘anxiety’, which everyone in the community was welcome to attend. On 18th May, Ed provided free 10-minute taster sessions of Indian head massage throughout the day and in the evening, delivered a presentation about self-compassion and encouraged self-hugs for oxytocin, also known as the ‘love hormone’. The sessions were well attended and the day was particularly meaningful as it coincided with the 4-year anniversary of the first Pride event in Oban.

Oban Pride is a small LGBTQ+ Pride charity on the west coast of Scotland. Since 2020, Oban Pride has been working in partnership with Argyll Wellbeing Hub, a mental health charity in Oban promoting peer to peer self-help, when it was identified that there was a need for mental health support and addressing isolation for LGBTQ+ people of Oban and the surrounding areas.
