I spent 20+ years thinking I needed more discipline 😳

The cycle:
Monday: “This is my week 💪”
Friday: “One glass won’t hurt 🍷”
Saturday: “I’ve earnt this 🍔🍟🍕🍫”
Sunday: Guilt. “Fresh start Monday 😶‍🌫️.”

Rinse & repeat for 20+ years 🫠.

I thought I was the problem, not disciplined enough, not strong enough…I was wrong.

The problem was NEVER willpower, It was the ALL or NOTHING mindset.

What I wish I’d known:
1️⃣ One bad meal doesn’t cancel 3 good days - just eat your next normal meal.
2️⃣ 80% consistently beats 100% Mon-Thu then chaos Fri-Sun.
3️⃣ Weekends COUNT - they’re not a gap between ‘diets’.
4️⃣ Progress doesn’t need to be pretty - 50% weeks still count.

The moment I ditched “all or nothing” for “something is better than nothing …Everything changed.

Things I’ve stopped apologising for in my 40s:

❌ Leaving parties early
❌ Saying NO
❌ Not people pleasing anymore
❌ Eating carbs
❌ Not drinking
❌ Taking time for myself
❌ Having boundaries
❌ Choosing sleep over socials
❌ Putting my health first

I spent YEARS saying yes when I meant no. Staying out when I wanted to leave. Shrinking myself to make others comfortable.

Not anymore.

Here’s what I’ve learned:
1. “No” is a complete sentence, you don’t owe anyone an explanation. No is enough.
2. People pleasing is self abandonment. Everytime you say yes to them and no to yourself, you’re telling yourself you don’t matter…You do.
3. Boundaries aren’t selfish - they’re survival. Protecting your energy isn’t mean, its necessary.
4. The right people will respect your limits, the ones who don’t are showing you who they are.

Your energy is PRECIOUS. Protect it like your life depends on it….because honestly, it does 🙌.

Your weight loss journey is like walking on ice 🥶.

It’s daunting,some days you slip,some days you have to slow right down.But you keep moving, one careful step at a time.

As we come to the end of January, this is where most people quit.

If you’re feeling lost right now, here’s what to do:

1️⃣ Zoom out - one bad week isn’t a failed journey
2️⃣ Reassess and adjust where needed - but stay consistent
3️⃣ Celebrate what you HAVE done, not what you haven’t
4️⃣ Ask for help - you don’t have to figure it out alone

You don’t stop walking just because the path gets slippery.
Slow progress is still progress.

“How long did it take?”
The question I get asked most,The answer nobody wants.

Over 10 years …and I’m still going.

❌ Not linear
❌ Setbacks, restarts, write-offs
✅ But lots of learnings

The biggest favour I did for myself was to remove the pressure of time.

No hard deadlines, No extremes.
Just slow, steady and showing up for myself each day.

Journeys are not just a before and after, there’s always a messy middle inbetween.

The journey never ends and that’s okay…the next chapter is waiting 🙏.

POV: You nearly gave up because of a number.

3 weeks into my fat loss phase- here’s what the data says:
⚖️ Scales: -3lbs
📏 Measurements: -4 inches
📸 Progress pics: THIS.

If I’d only trusted the scales, I would’ve thought nothing was happening.

But the photos don’t lie.
This is why you need more than one way to measure progress.

The scales are just one tool, they don’t show:
∙ The inches lost
∙ The bloating gone
∙ The shape changing
∙ How your clothes fit

3lbs on paper = A completely different story in the mirror.
Fat loss is slow, It’s stubborn, but it’s working.
Don’t quit because of a number.

📖 Slow mornings
💪 Still moved my body
💻 Worked on the business
😴 Early nights

Not every weekend needs to be go go go.
Rest is part of the process.
