Passenger Lift Solutions is pleased to announce that the company has been acquired by Hidral S.A., a worldwide provider of lifting and accessibility solutions headquartered in Seville, Spain, marking an important step in our continued development.

This follows several years of sustained growth and market performance, with PLS recognised as a strong strategic fit, reflecting its established position in the UK social welfare transport sector and complementing Hidral’s existing product range across wider accessibility applications and strengthening its transport accessibility offering alongside Hidral Gobel.

For our customers and partners, it remains business as usual. PLS will continue to operate as a standalone business under its existing name, with the same management team in place, alongside the same products and high standards of service, support and warranty.

As demand for accessible passenger transport continues to grow, PLS has seen a steady increase in service activity across both new and existing installations.

This growth reflects how operators are placing greater emphasis on preventative maintenance, long-term reliability and responsive technical support. In practical terms, this has meant supporting a wider installed base, increased call-out volumes and more planned maintenance programmes.

To support this demand, the PLS service team has expanded and now includes three customer support staff in the office, two dedicated parts staff, and seven service engineers providing technical support across PLS installations nationwide.

This structure enables PLS to support customers throughout the operational life of their passenger lift systems.

We are supporting operators as they prepare for the end of exemptions under the Public Service Vehicles Accessibility Regulations (PSVAR) for rail replacement services on 31 July, with ministers confirming that no extensions will be granted.

With a fixed deadline now in place, operators and vehicle owners must ensure PSVAR compliance for any vehicles operating in scope.

We are already working with operators on both PSVAR-compliant new-build vehicles and structured retrofit projects, supporting practical decisions around passenger lift installation and upgrade.
