✨ I used to think certain weaknesses in my body were “just the way I’m built”… until Reformer Pilates proved me wrong.

For the last 5 years working in soft tissue therapy, I’ve helped so many people with a range of issues. One thing I’ve noticed again and again is that movement is often both the cause and the solution.

Many sports and training styles create repetitive patterns. We naturally become more dominant on one side, and while no one moves in perfect 50/50 balance, those imbalances often highlight where weakness lives.

Strength training has been brilliant for uncovering those weaknesses and building resilience. But I realised it doesn’t always reach the smaller stabilising muscles that often get overlooked.

That’s where Reformer Pilates has been a complete game changer. It combines strength and stretch while encouraging balance and symmetry. Unlike mat Pilates or yoga, the reformer machine gives constant feedback—showing you exactly where work is needed and creating lasting change.

For me personally, areas I once dismissed as “just the way I am” have started to improve. And that’s exactly why I’ve decided to become a Reformer Pilates instructor—to offer this alongside my therapy work and help others experience the same transformation.

Food for thought... Your Saddle Might Be Lying to You 👀😈

Even if your horse is perfectly symmetrical, your saddle might not be.

A subtly twisted tree or uneven flocking can throw your alignment off - leading to muscle imbalances, compensation patterns, and chronic tension. That tension shows up in your body… and that’s where soft tissue therapy comes in. If something always feels off, it might not be you, but your body is dealing with the effects.

💆‍♀️ Soft tissue work can help relieve that built-up tension and get you feeling more balanced in the saddle again, and regular saddle fittings can help prevent problems arising!
