The DESMOND (Diabetes Education and Self-Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed) programme provides:

🗓 Comprehensive 6-Hour Sessions: In-depth education tailored to help you manage your Type 2 diabetes effectively. (may be split up into two 3 hours sessions)
🏫 Local Venue: Conveniently held at Moor Park Health Centre, making it easy for you to attend.
👥 Group Activities: Engage in interactive group activities with up to 10 fellow participants, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
👩‍🏫 Expert Guidance: The program is led by two fully trained, quality assured educators, ensuring you receive top-notch information and support.
💬 Personalised Support: Opportunities to speak one-on-one with an educator if you prefer individualised guidance.
💵 Cost: This is free to our patients and there are light refreshments provided.

Please do get in touch at least 6-8 weeks before you fly to ensure we are able to facilitate any vaccinations you may need.

Our clinics do book up well in advance, so it is imperative, you allow as much time as possible, prior to going on holiday as otherwise we may not be able to accommodate your appointment.

💜 Today is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day. Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers, often called the “silent disease” because symptoms can be vague and appear late. Early detection saves lives!

Know the signs:

- Indigestion
- Persistent tummy or back pain
- Changes to your poo
- Unexplained weight loss
- Jaundice (yellowing of skin/eyes)

If you notice these symptoms, contact your GP immediately.
