For part 1 cft we explored what compassion meant and how we show it to ourselves. For part 2 we are going to explore how we are compassionate towards others and in doing so do we apply unconscious compassion to ourselves? How do you show compassion to others? Ask yourself why? Is it because you need a response? Is it because you genuinely care? Can I be for other reasons?

When I ask people how do you show compassion towards yourself I am often faced with blank expressions, sometimes uncomfortable replies and often they talk of compassion towards others (we talk about this soon). Compassion can come with shame when experiencing trauma and people can often feel guilt for showing themselves compassion if they feel unworthy. Compassion means to ‘suffer together’ however to apply compassion to oneself can enable personal, internal conflicts to reduce. I will be sharing some helpful tips and examples as we go on
