Parent Carers Cornwall

Parent Carers Cornwall Parent Carer Council is an independent parent led organisation supporting families with children with disabilities and additional needs aged 0 - 25

What is Parent Carers Cornwall? It is an independent organisation run by parent carers of disabled children to support families with children with additional needs and disabilities in Cornwall, to help find information, to network with each other through activities, events and training and very importantly providing a united forum enabling parent carers to not only have a voice, but for that voice to be heard, through parent carer participation whether directly in meetings or via feedback through a survey. Parent Carers Cornwall challenges the Local Authority, on their policies, processes and development of services, so that they are the best for our families and our children in Cornwall. In this time of budget cuts this is more essential than ever, we need every voice to be heard. We are not and never have been part of Cornwall Council, though we do undertake some joint working to enable the best outcomes for families. If you would you like to know more about us or register on our database to receive information, then our website is very user friendly

Whats it like to be Neurodivergent?
Whats it like being an Autistic girl?
Whats it like to be a boy with ADHD ?
Jo is an autistic woman, Tigger is an autistic ADHD man, they found growing up hard, school did not always suit them, their interests did not always match the interests of their peers, dating and relationships were tricky.
Now they are adults they have not grown out of their neurodivergence, and life is not always easy, but they've picked up a lot of tips along the way.
At this session you'll hear humorous accounts from each of them about what their teenage years were like and what their adult life is like. Then you can have lunch with them and chat and ask questions if you want to.
