New drop in group coming to South Shields! 📣

We’re excited to announce that in January 2026 we’ll be launching a brand new drop in group at Haven Point in South Shields!

The group will run every Wednesday morning from 7 January 2026.

Just like our other drop ins, it will be a friendly space for people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families/carers to meet others, join in activities and get support with anything they need.

We can’t wait to get this group up and running — hope to see you there on Wednesday 7 January!

Free Christmas resource pack for families!🎁🎄

Many families have shared that Christmas can be a challenging time for their autistic child. While some young people enjoy the excitement, others may find the changes in routine and busy environments overwhelming.

To support families this festive season, we’ve created a Christmas Resource Pack that you can pick up during family support appointments, at our monthly Cuppa and Cake groups, or by dropping into the Autism Hub to pick one up during our opening hours (Monday-Wednesday, 9am-4pm).

What’s included:
✨A December calendar to help plan the month and to prepare for upcoming events
✨A detailed guidance booklet with practical tips and strategies to support your child through the festive period

Since 1st January 2025 we have had a huge 1210 appointments where patients have not attended. This includes GP appointments, Nurse reviews, vaccination appointments and blood tests.

Please let us know if you can't attend. There are other patients who can use these appointments even at short notice.

Patients use the cancel function on our phone system without having to join the queue, or you can cancel on the NHS App at any time of day and night. Alternatively you can speak to a member of our reception team during our opening hours 8am - 6.30pm (8pm on Wednesdays)
