The footpath that crosses Stefan’s bench, with the bridge over the stream is closed until 26th October 2026, due to the bridge being unsafe. This is Rainow footpath 47. ( I do mean 2026, not 2025!)

🥾🥾Are you looking for a friendly group of walkers to join on Monday mornings.

Come and join the Bridgend Centre Bollington Monday walkers on their weekly walks for health.

The easy rated walks are approximately 2 miles in length.

⏰ Walks start at 10.15am. Monday mornings.


Monday walks cost £2

The Bridgend Centre Bollington Autumn and Winter walks programme begins today.

🗣️ Come and join the Wednesday walkers today

📍starting from The Bridgend Centre in Palmerston Street, Bollington

⏰ at 10.15am .

☕️The walk costs £3 which includes tea, coffee and biscuits, back in the Bridgend Centre at the end of the walk.

🐕‍🦺🦮 All walkers and their dogs (kept on leads, please) are welcome.

Sunday was a mixed bag on the weather but no spirits were dampened, despite some sheltering from the storms taking place! Over 40 miles were covered today by our walkers.

Today’s (8th September) programme is varied and the forecast is for a settled day of sunny intervals and a good temperature for walking:

🥾 10:15am Ramble above Rainow (6 miles)

🥾 10:15am Walk for health (2 miles)

🥾 2:00pm Honesty boxes walk (4.5 miles)

🥾 3:00pm One You (2 miles)

Tonight there is also a free talk on Hill safety (and what to do when it all goes wrong) by a member of Buxton Mountain Rescue 8:00pm at the Dog & Partridge.

The Bollington Walking Festival 6th ~ 14th September starts today.

The sun is shining and the weather looks settled and perfect for walking for the days ahead.

The programme gets underway today (Saturday 6th September) with these fabulous walks.

🥾 10:15am Nordic Walking (8 miles)

🥾 10:15am To the West Parkgate (8.5 miles)

🥾 10:30am Bolly from the train (9.5 Miles)

🥾 1:30pm Bollington Brewery walk (5 miles)

September is here, and with it the Bollington Walking Festival!

We hope your diaries are cleared and ready for a wonderful week of walking and related activities - there is something for everyone from toddlers’ bear hunting to long distance walks of over 20 miles.

There are social events including a useful talk by a mountain rescue volunteer and taster activities which allow you to try something new.

Opening festivities take place this Friday 5 September at 7:30pm at the Dog and Partridge, Bollington in the upstairs room. Please grab drinks from the downstairs bar and join us for pizza and a pre festival chat.
