Meet Frank, one of our generous volunteers đź‘‹

We asked him why he gives his time to Bolton Hospice:

“One of my favourite parts is meeting young families and helping them to build a home. It gives you a reyt good buzz”

“Everybody wants the best for the hospice. It’s an enjoyable day that goes really quickly and keeps you physically fit... apart from the cake. We have lemon drizzle every Monday”

If you like cake and you've got free time to fill then good news! We're currently looking for volunteers to help sort and move furniture at our Furniture Plus Shop and Warehouse. You'll need to be able to commit to 4 hour volunteering slots. If you're interested you can apply on our website 🍰

Have you spotted these tempting chocolate bouquets in your local hospice shop? 🍫

As part of , an exciting new campaign to raise even more vital funds for our patients and their loved ones, all of our charity shops are raffling off these epic chocolate treats to some lucky customers!

What's more, as well as getting the chance to win, the money you spend on raffle tickets will be DOUBLED thanks to the generous match funders supporting the campaign. That means every pound you spend on entries will become TWO, at no extra cost to yourself - what's not to love!

When you pop into your local Bolton Hospice shop next week, keep an eye out for the chocolate bouquet on the till, and make sure to ask the volunteer serving you for your lucky tickets 🤞

It’s Ernie’s fourth week volunteering at Bolton Hospice. Everyone say Hi Ernie 👋

When he retired from Warburton’s after 41 years, Ernie wanted something new to keep him busy. He decided to volunteer as an ebay sorter.

“My wife saw the ad and encouraged me to apply. Which area you volunteer in is up to you. I was used to manual work and wanted more. This suits me well, I’m enjoying it so far”

“It’s great for you and it’s great for the hospice too. In Bolton we all know someone who’s used their care”.

We're on the lookout for more retail volunteers, like Ernie, to help us raise funds to support those with life limiting illnesses, and their families. Interested? You can apply on our website.
