Many smiles and much laughter at this session. Who would know that the residents at Verwood House Care Home were working their brains really hard to improve focus and co-ordination with the aim of maintaining independence?

"You've made my day"!

I am lucky to be able to deliver Love to Move to the residents of Parley Place Care Home every week. The residents look forward to it and I know how much benefit they get from attending regularly.

Today one of the residents who comes every week, could not attend as she had an on-site medical appointment. By chance, we met up at the end of the class and she told me how disappointed she was to have missed all the fun. So as we went down in the lift together, we shared a super quick partner hand clapping moment (see previous posts if you are not sure what that is) and as we exited the lift she had a beaming smile and said that had made her day!

It doesn't take much for a moment of human connection but can really make a huge difference to someone. Her comment also made my day! 🤩

Crazy warm up for Love to Move today with reaction practice using a Crazy Catch UK net!
Everyone attending the Parley Place Care Home - Barchester Healthcare session had a go and they all really enjoyed the challenge.

This was followed by all our usual cognitive enhancing exercises working on co-ordination, balance, rhythm, word retrieval and more as developed by the British Gymnastics Foundation.

Love to Move Dorset has space for local people in the West Moors / Ferndown area Wednesday 22nd at 2.30pm.

Bring someone for a free trial if you think they may enjoy some gentle exercise in a supportive environment at Brook View Care Home. We get the body moving and the brain thinking whilst having fun.

The team at Brook View will also invite you to join them for tea and cakes afterwards.

I was invited to deliver a British Gymnastics Foundation Love to Move session at the Prama Memory Lane session in Ferndown yesterday.

What a lovely afternoon everyone had! Karen was so welcoming and caring towards all the attendees and made me feel very welcome.

Everyone joined in and gave all the sections their best. The Hokey Cokey was definitely a favourite and had everyone singing, smiling and moving!

Hope to see some of my new friends at some of my other sessions nearby in the future.
