There are 2 different surveys available this week for you to voice your experiences of SEND Services in BCP. We have already shared the Ofsted Survey on Monday; BCP Council SEND Survey is also live. We encourage you to fill out both, as your answers in each survey go to different organisations. Find the details here: https://sendiass4bcp.org/2025/11/07/do-you-like-surveys/

Help shape Contact's response to an inquiry from the National Audit Office and the Public Accounts Committee, on Home-to-School transport for 16-19 year old's who have SEND. Links in their post, below.

New transport survey for 16-19 year olds has launched! 📝

Transport to school and college is a hot topic – and under HUGE scrutiny, with the National Audit Office releasing a report at the end of October and the Public Accounts Committee (a body of MP’s tasked with scrutiny of public spending) carrying out an Inquiry now.

We’ve launched a short survey to find out more about transport for 16-19 year olds in England so that we can represent families’ experiences in our submission to the Inquiry, giving robust and up to date evidence.

It’s common for children to miss the odd day of school due to illness. But for some children with a disability or health condition, time off can be longer or more frequent, and that can feel worrying for families.

Our information & advice pages on this explain:

- what support schools must provide when your child can’t attend,
- how to arrange home or hospital education,
- your rights if your child is off sick,
- and what to expect when they return to school.

You can’t be fined for genuine medical absences, and schools should work with you to make sure your child stays connected to learning and friends while they recover.
