If your child is a picky eater, stop saying this 👇

I get it - after a long day, “just one more bite” feels like the only way to get food in.

And I’ve definitely been guilty of letting this phrase slip as well 😅

But research shows it backfires every time.

The good news? You don’t need pressure or bribery to help your child try new foods.

Swipe through for what to do instead.

Last week, we stopped at a fast food chain.

My son said: “I’m still full — I’ll just have a drink.”

So he sat happily with his juice while the rest of us ate burgers + chips.

Here’s the thing:

✨ No meltdown.
✨ No urgency to “make it count.”
✨ No obsession with what he was “missing.”

Because he knows he’ll get the chance again.

Fast food isn’t a rare special treat in our house - it’s just food.

That doesn’t mean we have it every day (or even every week).

It means we don’t put it on a pedestal.

👉 When food isn’t loaded with rules, shame, or scarcity, kids stop obsessing.

They start listening to their bodies instead.

I held back sharing this for a long time…

Because parenting is already filled with pressure and judgment, and I didn’t want to add to the noise.

But after working with hundreds of people in binge & disordered eating recovery, it would be selfish to keep this information to myself.

Almost all of their struggles started in childhood - with well-meaning parents, just trying their best.

Here’s the truth ⬇️

🚫 Bribery backfires
🚫 Food labels create shame
🚫 Screens make eating harder
🚫 Veggie pressure doesn’t work

Your kids don’t need more rules.

They need consistency, trust, and a safe food environment.

And when you make those shifts?

✨ Meals feel easier.
✨ Your kids learn to trust their bodies.

💜 Follow along for simple, science-backed ways to raise confident eaters (without guilt, bribery, or battles).
