🦉 Another truly uplifting afternoon at Mulberry Fields ✨

Homeowners took to the skies (well, almost!) as brought a spectacular display of birds of prey into our community. We met Winston the barn owl, Moos the kestrel, and several other birds including a striking white-faced owl too.

There were gasps, smiles, and plenty of brave volunteers stepping forward to hold and fly these magnificent creatures.

Moments like this capture exactly what we mean when we say our communities are enriching, engaging, and full of life. This is just one of many activities scheduled at Mulberry Fields, there’s always something exciting going on.

🎱🔥 Chapters welcomes a cool new addition — on the hottest day of the year!

Some of our super-fit and super-dedicated Chapters homeowners braved soaring temperatures to transport an exciting new arrival to the community — a 700lb slate-bedded snooker table, now proudly installed in the communal lounge at Constable Court.

Generously donated by Nightingale Square homeowner Tod, the table made the journey from Bournemouth with the help of Senior Estate Manager Iain Connell, transport funded by the Chapters Residents’ Association, and brilliant support from Mark Harvey of Spire Printing (https://spireprinting.com/).

This fantastic addition expands the resources available to homeowners and is already generating excitement. We’re expecting plenty of friendly competition in the weeks ahead — but who will be the first to hit a 147? 👀

Well done and thank you to everyone involved in making it happen — this is what community spirit is all about.

🍽️✨ A taste of Malawi at Chapters, Salisbury!

Our latest Supper Club at Chapters was a delicious celebration of culture and community, as our talented new chef Tawonga treated homeowners to a menu inspired by her Malawian heritage.

The evening offered a wonderful opportunity to try something new, with many homeowners sampling Nsima for the very first time - a traditional Malawian staple and perfect accompaniment to the beautifully prepared chicken, fish, and bean dishes.

And for those who saved room for something sweet, banana cake and cream buns provided the perfect finish to a warm and welcoming evening.

A big thank you to Tawonga and our Bistro team for sharing something special - both in flavour and in spirit - with the community. As always, Supper Club continues to be a highlight on the Chapters social calendar!

💰🌟 A fantastic fundraising milestone at Chapters, Salisbury!

With spare change collecting dust in pots and drawers across the country, Chapters homeowners decided to put theirs to meaningful use by donating to the Mile of Coins challenge in support of Alzheimer's Support Wiltshire, the community's chosen charity for 2025.

With 13 coins needed to make up just one foot in length, our generous community collected an incredible 6595 coins, stretching to 700 feet of coins laid out end-to-end!

The Grand Total raised? £501.27 - bringing the year’s fundraising total so far to an amazing £2,280.

Huge thanks to everyone who dug deep (sometimes literally!) to find and donate their spare change. Every penny really does count, and this has been a brilliant example of how small contributions can add up to something big.

🎤✨ A Friday to remember at Chapters, Salisbury!

Chapters was delighted to welcome back the talented Betsy Schrader Vocalist for another fantastic Friday Happy Hour performance. After captivating the community during our VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations in May, Betsy returned with a fresh and lively repertoire - this time treating homeowners to classics from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

There really was something for everyone - plenty of sing-along favourites and irresistible tunes that got toes tapping and even a few homeowners up dancing!

With the warm summer evening setting the perfect mood, it was a wonderful way to wind down the week and enjoy great company, live music, and the vibrant spirit of community life at Chapters.

🩺🔍 Chapters homeowners go on a Medical Mystery Tour of Salisbury!

A group of fifteen curious homeowners from Chapters stepped out for an intriguing Medical Mystery Tour around Salisbury, led by Lesley from the ArtCare Department at Salisbury District Hospital, with Alison kindly accompanying as the group’s back marker.

Starting outside the majestic Salisbury Cathedral, the tour began with a fascinating look at the medical-themed statues above its front entrance. From there, the group made their way to historic sites across the city — including the location of a 14th-century hospital, traditional Almshouses, Salisbury’s former Isolation Hospital, and an 18th-century medical building.

Along the way, Lesley provided rich historical context and insight into each location, making it a truly thought-provoking afternoon. Despite the classic British summer weather leaving everyone unsure of what to wear, the tour was a great success and enjoyed by all.

📚✨ A quiet corner of calm at Chapters, Salisbury…

While many of our updates from Chapters showcase the lively buzz of the Activity Room, there's another treasured space in the community that deserves the spotlight - the Chapters Library.

Lovingly reorganised by our expert resident librarians, Meg and Elisabeth, the library has become a peaceful and well-used haven. With around 1,000 books and magazines to browse, residents can borrow titles or simply settle into a cosy armchair with a good read, made even comfier thanks to our beautifully handmade cushions.

However, it’s more than just books. The library is also a space to unwind with a jigsaw puzzle, enjoy a game of chess, dominoes, cards or draughts, or gather with neighbours for a chat or small meeting. The wide-screen TV makes it a popular spot for sports fans, especially when a big final is on!

Whether you're after quiet reflection or a bit of friendly competition, the library at Chapters offers something for everyone - all in a welcoming and thoughtfully curated setting.

🎤🎶 Friday night fun at Chapters, Salisbury!

Another fantastic Karaoke night hit all the right notes at Chapters Bistro during Friday’s lively Happy Hour. Homeowners gathered to sing their hearts out, with expert accompaniment from talented homeowner Eric on the keyboard, who once again prepared a brilliant playlist of sing-along favourites.

With spirits high and lungs in fine form, the evening was full of laughter, music, and memorable performances. In honour of the Women’s EURO 2025, one particular anthem made several appearances - and each rendition got louder and prouder as the night went on! (We’re sure you can guess the tune…)

🎨 A creative first at Chapters, Salisbury – Scratch Art! 🖤🌈

Homeowners at Chapters recently tried their hand at Scratch Art (also known as Scraperboard) in a fun and relaxed session that combined creativity with plenty of chatter among friends and neighbours.

After practising with different scratching tools, homeowners moved on to creating postcards and larger pictures. From city scenes and wildlife designs - think lions, wolves, kittens, and stags - to free expression on blank canvases, there was something to spark everyone’s imagination.

The results were colourful and striking, and we can’t wait to see what they create next. What would you draw?
