Bonfire Night’s here! And you don’t have to throw your healthy habits on the fire. 🔥

At Slimming World we’re all about enjoying the night and staying on track. Try these tips for a fun-safe evening:

• Choose colourful veg/fruit snacks instead of all the sugary ones 🌈

• If you’re heading out for fireworks, enjoy the display and maybe treat yourself to one small sweet-treat rather than a big handful 😉

• Have a warm, hearty, slimming-friendly bowl when you get home so you’re not tempted to graze 🥣

Have you missed a week, a month, 6 months . . . and feel like you cannot come back? 😪

Are you someone who had one Syn too many and the guilt has eaten away at you for days, months, even years and you feel you just can't come back 😪

On Sunday it’s British pudding day 😋
Did you know that on Slimming Worlds Food Optimising plan you can still enjoy a pudding and lose weight?
Check out this scrumptious looking pudding.

🤩Recipe of the Week 🤩

🫚Steamed ginger pudding🫚

These gorgeous little puddings are wonderfully warming on a cold day. Rich with the flavours of ginger and spice, there’s pleasure in every spoonful!

🤩Ingredients 🤩

⭐️Low-calorie cooking spray
⭐️4 level tbsp reduced-sugar apricot jam
⭐️2 eggs, separated
⭐️25g golden caster sugar
⭐️4 level tbsp sweetener granules
⭐️75g self-raising flour
⭐️3 tsp ground ginger
⭐️½ tsp ground allspice
⭐️1 level tbsp finely chopped stem ginger

🤩Method 🤩

⭐️Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6. Spray 4 individual pudding basins with low-calorie cooking spray and place in a deep roasting dish. Spoon 1 tbsp jam into each of the basins.
⭐️Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar and sweetener until pale and fluffy. Sieve in the flour, ground ginger and allspice and stir to mix well.
⭐️Whisk the egg whites until soft peaks form and fold into the egg mixture with the stem ginger. Spoon this into the prepared basins, cover with baking parchment and foil and pour boiling hot water into the roasting dish to come halfway up the sides of the basins.
⭐️Place in the oven and steam for 20-25 minutes or until just firm and springy to the touch.
⭐️Put a plate over each basin and invert to turn out the puddings.

45 minutes

🤩Recipe of the Week 🤩

🍝Monster spaghetti with blood sauce 🍝

Ghoulishly tasty pasta for your family Halloween menu...

🍝Ingredients 🍝

⭐️1 butternut squash, halved, peeled, deseeded and cut into small chunks (or 700g ready chopped)
⭐️Low-calorie cooking spray
⭐️1 large onion, roughly chopped
⭐️2 garlic cloves, chopped or crushed
⭐️¼ tsp dried red chilli flakes (optional)
⭐️1 tsp tomato purée
⭐️400g can chopped tomatoes
⭐️400g dried spaghetti
⭐️½ tsp dried oregano
⭐️100g pimento-stuffed green olives in brine, drained and halved

🤩Method 🤩

⭐️Preheat your oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6. Spread the squash on a large non-stick baking tray. Spray with low-calorie cooking spray and roast for 30 minutes or until golden and caramelised, turning halfway.

⭐️While the squash is roasting, spray a large non-stick saucepan with low-calorie cooking spray and put it over a medium-high heat. Fry the onion for 7 minutes, stirring and adding a splash of water if it starts to stick. Stir in the garlic and chilli flakes (if using), then the tomato purée and tomatoes. Bring to the boil, turn down the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes until thickened.

⭐️Cook the spaghetti following the pack instructions, then drain, keeping 100ml of the cooking water. When the spaghetti is almost ready, use a stick blender to blitz the tomato sauce until smooth.

⭐️Stir the spaghetti cooking water into the sauce. Add the squash, spaghetti and oregano, stir everything together, then divide between 4 bowls. Divide over the olives and add a twist of black pepper to serve.
