Coordination Matters!!!
Last year, Jenson had a fear of lifting his feet off the ground. The unease of tilting forward on the toes, prompted him to balance on his heels. Changing the nature of how he felt and the weight distribution.
He didn't want to fall forward because of how he had injured his teeth. Roll on to today and he has mastered some great skill of keeping his toes down. This video shows real focus and concentration. He is throwing one handed and catching. Stood alone without anything!
Recap why is this a milestone?
Jenson was diagnosed with a brain tumour at 2yrs old. He had surgery but the consequences were a total loss of movement. He had:
❌️ No muscle tone affecting his speech, ability to eat, control natural functions like breathing, self care amd temperature regulation.
❌️ A stroke down his right side with no movement or reflex in this arm, leg and face.
❌️ Posterior Fossa Syndrome delaying feedback to his brain and muscles, processing information
❌️ Sight impairment, bad double vision
WITH CONTINUED DEDICATION OF REHABILITATION WITH MUSCLE MECHANICS..
Jenson can:
✅️ Coordination more movements together
✅️ move from assistive equipment to trusting himself to balance. No one could predict if he could, even the medical team.
✅️ Enjoy being independent with guidance to keep training more movement sequences.
✅️ Keep building his knowledge to get to the next milestone of complete ability to walk with confidence.
