Many parents ask me what the early signs of dyslexia might look like at home or in school.

Some common signs can include:
• Difficulty remembering spellings
• Slow reading despite good understanding when text is read aloud
• Trouble recalling sequences such as days of the week or instructions

These signs don’t automatically mean dyslexia, but they can indicate that a closer look at how a child processes language would be helpful. Early understanding makes a real difference to confidence and learning.

Metacognition is one of the most powerful — and often overlooked — revision skills for GCSE and A-level students.

Simply rereading notes is not enough. Effective revision requires retrieval, structure and reflection.

ADHD and dyslexia are often talked about together — but they are not the same assessment.
Dyslexia assessments are educational. ADHD assessments are medical.
