Friday evening with Group 3 focusing on developing their Strength & Conditioning technique. Building strong fundamentals is key to supporting long-term athletic development.

Core Motion – Groups 3 & 4 putting in the work.
This week’s focus has been on developing lateral movement and single-leg strength and stability. All Speed, Agility and Power assessments have now been completed.

The improvements may appear small, but they are meaningful progress and align with Youth Development Pathways, supporting the development of fundamental movement skills that underpin lifelong health, fitness and athletic development.

Interesting and important reading for parents.

Our understanding of safe, age-appropriate strength training for young people has advanced significantly in recent years. When delivered with structured programming and qualified supervision, resistance training can be both safe and highly beneficial.

This doesn’t mean every young person should perform all types of lifting. However, with correct professional guidance, progressive planning and a focus on movement quality, strength training can build confidence, competence and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
