💛 NEW SUPPORT GROUP – The Beat Goes On 💛
A safe space for families of those in active addiction.
I created this group because I’ve been there.
I know what it’s like to fight for your loved one—to beg services to listen, to try everything, and still feel like no one sees the full picture.
My big brother Matt was alcohol dependent. He was kind, funny, creative, and deeply loved. But the system failed him. It failed us. And on 13th June 2024, we lost him.
In the years leading up to his death, myself and my niece did everything we could. We knocked on every door—mental health services, the NHS, social care. Every time, we were turned away, told he wasn’t “bad enough” or that he had to ask for help himself.
He couldn’t. And he’s not the only one.
Through this journey, I’ve met countless others going through the same pain—watching someone they love disappear behind addiction, and feeling completely alone in it.
That’s why I’ve created The Beat Goes On—a Facebook group for families and loved ones of those in active addiction.
🎧 It’s named after Matt—he was a DJ who loved music, especially Pete Tong. This group is his legacy.
✨ It’s a place to be real, to be heard, and to find hope—even in the darkest moments.
