The Future of Neurorehabilitation is Here – and It’s Powered by Robotics and Smart Technology 🤖
We may be joining the conversation a little later than others, but with our new Clinical Director joining Team Thor Assistive Technologies this week, it feels like the perfect moment to celebrate a major milestone for our field.
In October 2025, NICE released its updated Clinical Guideline NG252: Rehabilitation for Chronic Neurological Disorders, including Acquired Brain Injury. This long-awaited update — alongside the 2023 National Stroke Guidelines — confirms what clinical evidence has been telling us for years: rehabilitation outcomes are driven by intensity and dosage.
The new guidance reinforces what research has long shown:
✅ Rehabilitation intensity and dosage drive recovery outcomes. ✅ Technology, robotics, and Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) can significantly enhance therapy dose and engagement. ✅ These innovations are cost-effective, help manage workforce pressures, and support long-term, sustainable rehabilitation delivery.
As NICE states:
“Robotics have high initial costs but can save practitioner time, allowing greater training intensity and potentially better outcomes due to the dose–response relationship.”
At Thor Assistive Technologies, we’re proud to represent leading global manufacturers of robotic rehabilitation, FES, and sensor-based technologies, helping therapists deliver higher therapy intensity, gamified engagement, and measurable results.

Our range includes: ⚙️ Robotics and exoskeletons for upper and lower limb rehabilitation ⚡ FES systems to support motor recovery and strengthen muscle function 🎮 Digital and sensor-based tools to increase motivation and track progress.
Under Amy’s direction, we are excited to be expanding our clinical education and support for therapists — ensuring every team we work with feels confident, supported, and empowered to use technology to its full potential.
We’re entering an exciting new phase — one that puts clinicians, patients, and innovation at the heart of everything we do.
