Phöebe hares. I never realised just how important food was until I wasn’t able to eat it. At one point, I couldn’t even eat. Since my diagnosis,

For the last few years I’ve been battling an illness that’s primarily affected by the food I eat.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our MadStillNess movement workshop at 395 Studios! ✨

Everyone who comes to these workshops has been so warm, welcoming and respectful of the space, and I really hope to keep building this community for q***r, sober, neurospicys (like myself) to express ourselves safely.

Masks off. Just appreciating music, movement and community.

We're back again this week with some vibey beats;
🕰️ 7-8.30
📍395 Studios (just underneath Jam Jar)
👗 Dress to express; wear what moves you! This a judgement-free space of self-expression. So, leave your comparisons at the door with your shoes, grab a cuppa and move!

Book here: https://momence.com/Phöebe--Hares/Dance-Yoga/102074782?skipPreview=true

MadStillNess is the concept of using movement to still the mind. We start with some breathwork, then use yoga to guide us into our bodies, facilitated by soulful ambient melodies.

As the music picks up, we'll play with games and prompts used in contemporary dance and contact improvisation to explore movement, or just some free movement/ecstatic dance, depending on what we all need that day.

We end every session with some gentle yoga and meditation.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining out at BOX-E the other week, a beautiful little Michelin Guide listed restaurant located in Wapping Wharf.

Usually when I go out for food I get quite anxious about what I can eat, and the experience can sometimes be quite stressful (which is why I prefer to cook). BOX-E is the first restaurant I've come across to cater for all dietary needs - including the low-FODMAP diet, with a separate printed menu and (most importantly) served with a smile. It was the first time in 2 years I was able to go out for food, relax and not feel like a weirdo.

Not only do BOX-E understand the importance of diet and intolerances, all their food is seasonal and locally sourced, everything is reused and recycled (nothing goes to landfill) and, on top of all of this, they do volunteer and charity work with .

As Tessa says:

“We’re passionate about getting people into cooking for themselves. Not necessarily to become the world's best cook, but because it's empowering to be able to cook for yourself and the people you love.”

I sat down with lovely Tessa to chat a bit more about how they started and what led them to catering for low-FODMAP.

Check out the full interview over at my website - link in my bio 😘

Good morning beautiful people 😚

I'm a little bit nervous about sharing this as this weeks blog post is a little bit different....

I went to Shambala festival the weekend before last. It was my first 4 day festival since I've been poorly and went sober. After receiving some lovely comments from some familiar faces I bumped into, I thought it was important to share my experience.

"navigating a festival sober (sort of)

So, I’m at Shambala dressed as a half-naked ninja (all my bits are well and truly out), sippin’ on a CBD coffee, watching a 7-year-old b***y shake to Prodigy Spitfire whilst playing sword fights with my new little mate called Alfie (who’s 5-fingers-old). Giggling uncontrollably at the (completely inappropriate) juxtaposition of the current situation (my favourite kind).

This is why I love festivals; everyone just embraces their inner weirdness. There’s no structure; everything's just a little bit of a mess and it is beautiful.
-
But without the numbing of the nights followed by morning hang-xiety, I had a lot more time to think.

It wasn’t until Sunday that I cracked....."

If you want to read the rest head over to my website, link in bio 😘 and if you enjoy then please share ❤️
