Today really matters…& here’s why
World Menopause Day 2025
Many people talk about menopause like the main event in midlife.
But I focus on the seven to ten years that lead up to it, the hormonal rollercoaster called perimenopause.
It’s the bit where everything starts to shift…
your hormones, your sleep, your emotions, your tolerance levels, your sense of self, and symptoms are often worse than after menopause.
It’s the bit where you start wondering what the hell is happening to your brain, your body, your energy.
And it’s the bit I’ve devoted my work to helping women through.
Over the past few years, I’ve supported thousands of women in this phase, and the work just keeps getting deeper, richer, and more necessary.
Because perimenopause isn’t just about hormones.
It’s about life.
✨
This year’s World Menopause Day theme is Lifestyle Medicine.
And honestly… it couldn’t be more perfect.
Perimenopause invites (and sometimes forces) a life audit.
How are you resting?
Where are your boundaries?
What’s draining you, and what’s feeding you?
What are you consuming, not just with your mouth but with your mind?
And what really matters to you now?
For most women I work with, the biggest struggle isn’t the hot flushes (though they’re a real pain in the ass for around 70% of us).
It’s anxiety.
Brain fog.
Insomnia.
Overthinking.
That sense of losing yourself.
Of feeling like you’re coming apart, when really, your brain is just rewiring.
Because that’s what’s happening.
Your brain is pruning and reconfiguring itself for the next stage of life.
Your body is recalibrating too.
And yes… you will be changed by the end of it.
But here’s what I wanted to offer as food for thought:
You’ve been changing your whole life.
It’s just more noticeable now… and far more meaningful.
✨
Perimenopause can be rough.
Bewildering.
It can bring waves of anger, sadness, denial, grief, loss, resentment, rage, despair, and loneliness.
And yet… with the right support, it can also become one of the most powerful and clarifying transitions of your life.
You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through.
There’s so much help available now.
Allow yourself the time to explore what you need.
And if you’re not sure where to start, come find me.
I’ll help you figure it out.
With heart,
Jo xx

✨ Addendum:
The MindMedicine tools I use in my work: hypnosis, mindfulness, self-compassion, breathwork, EFT, and somatic soothing, are all part of my HypnoHRT® Method.
It’s a science-meets-soul approach that helps ease anxiety, hot flushes, insomnia, brain fog, and overthinking, whether or not you’re using prescribed HRT. Works brilliantly either way.
Because you deserve to feel calm, clear, and connected, even through the chaos.
