Euan and Neil found a common passion in their love of travel to remote parts of the world. They took this one step further by combining their passion with their careers. As experienced nurses working in travel health and public health Euan & Neil became frustrated with the poor quality e-learning available for health professionals. After leading the clinical education department of one of the UK’s largest nurse and pharmacist clinic networks, they channeled their experience to create Health Academy. They wanted to create a new, fun place for learning with a variety of learning options to suite the goals of the individual practitioner. Our mission is to improve the learning experience of healthcare professionals. We don’t just want you to improve your knowledge and skills so you’re better and more fulfilled in your job!

Meningococcal disease remains relatively uncommon, but recent increases highlight the need for continued vigilance. In 2024–25, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) recorded 378 cases of Invasive Meningococcal Disease (IMD), up from 340 the previous year. MenB was responsible for the vast majority of cases (82.6%), followed by MenW (11.3%), MenY (3.4%), and MenC (0.8%) With cases rising, recognising symptoms early and maintaining high vaccination uptake are more important than ever.

Menopause is one of the most common, yet often most underestimated factors shaping women’s health in primary care. Around 13 million women in the UK are currently perimenopausal or menopausal, roughly one-third of the female population, yet many still struggle to access consistent, evidence-based advice and treatment. According to recent research, many women feel their symptoms are not taken seriously, and clinicians report varying levels of confidence in managing menopause-related care.

Sometimes it’s the main reason a woman books in, but more often it emerges halfway through the appointment, hidden behind other concerns like poor sleep, low mood, joint pain, or fatigue. It’s one of those issues that can often linger beneath the surface of other health concerns, yet once discussed, it’s clear how much impact it’s having day to day.
