Our art club members have loved trying different marbling techniques so this week we wanted to try something similar but with a bit of a twist. We made floating chalk prints which produced these amazing explosions of colour. Our artists really enjoyed the sensory nature of the process and were fascinated to explore how different types of chalk and pastels gave different results.

These photos are from our previous session at For Making's Sake where we made geometric stamps using craft foam and cardboard.

We think the results were lovely and our artists created some really fantastic repeated geometric prints.

Back by popular demand, bubble painting! Some of our artists made Valentine's Day themed pieces by printing with heart shaped bubble wands. Others tried printing bubbles using different shapes.

All of our artists got really creative, exploring different ways of building layers of colour and texture. Great work everyone!

This week our learning disabled artists were using a technique called sgraffito with oil pastels. This allowed them to make vibrant, textured drawings by scratching the surface to reveal the colours lying underneath.

At For Making Sake we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and safe space, where our artists can experiment and try out new materials and techniques.

String painting was a favourite, with members enjoying pulling, twisting and lifting the string to create unique and colourful designs 🧵🎨

Each piece was completely different, celebrating individuality and self-expression.

These creative discoveries are what make art club such a welcoming and inspiring space.

This week our artists were using chalk pastels to create feather and fur effects. We made a huge mess and had awesome fun creating birds of paradise and hairy monsters.

For many people in the group it was their first time using pastels and they really got the hang of layering colours, blending, and adding details. Great work everyone!
