I love how these two have cuddled up tonight - Grace and her calf, Hunter. I can’t believe he is over 3 months old now - this autumn seems to have flown past.

It’s so important to our cows and their calves to have this time together - I know it’s frustrating if you’re waiting for a milk order or if we’re a bit short in the shop on occasion, but try telling these guys that they aren’t important! 😂

If I had a magic wand I’d change a few things in our dairy (a bigger shed and more cows and more processing room to start with of course 😉) but cow with calf dairying is the hill I’d always choose to take my last stand on.

Buying milk from our dairy makes a real difference and not just to the cows and their calves, but to the food system as a whole. Vote for the world you want with every £ you spend!

Enjoyed making this Wild Garlic Pesto picked from the garden today. Delicious with Burrata, Heritage Tomatoes 🍅 and Prosciutto. Drizzled with Olive 🫒 Oil and Balsamic Vinegar. Eaten for lunch in the sunshine with homemade Spelt bread 🍞

I made this temporary fence after the last one got washed away in our last big winter flood. A lot of branches down from recent high wind storms allowed me to build a rustic fence for a bit of fun.
