Qualified Teacher with nearly 20 years experience in the Primary Age Range.
9 years experience as a Special Needs and Disabilities Co- ordinator.
5 years experience with complex SEND needs
Current specialist EYS Teacher (2-4year olds)

Training and experience based skills include (but are not limited to):
*specific approaches for ASD
* Specific communication interventions including: Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) including use of high tech devices and programes, Switches and low tech strategies such as communication books, colourful semantics and sentence building skills. *Academic interventions to aid concentration and independence (such as the TEACCH approach)
*Visual timetables & schedules
*therapeutic approaches such as sensory stories and massage based interventions
*adapting environments and approaches to support sensory sensitivities and anxiety
*various life skills based approaches
*adapting a curriculum based on the child's interests and level of understanding in order to aid motivation to learn
*play based skills within the EYFS focusing on engagement and celebration of achievement
*Licensed Thrive practitioner

SEND EHCP Officers undertake extensive liaison with families of children and young people as well as with a wide range of education, social care, and health professionals.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the children and young people with the most complex special educational needs are well supported to have the best possible life outcomes through effective assessment of their needs and active administration of their EHC plans.

There is a mixture of home-based work with some time spent in an office and meetings in person and via remote computer links, e.g., with families, schools, and colleges.

Salary: £30,882-£37,945
