🏆 Congratulations to Dr Ola (current GP Registrar) 🏆

We are pleased to share the news that the Royal College of General Practitioners has awarded Dr Ola with the prestigious Bibby Innes Award for the best Quality Improvement Project across Yorkshire & Humber.

Dr Ola had to present his project to a panel of senior clinicians, and is a very highly respected award. This is a huge achievement and is a true reflection of Dr Ola’s dedication to his training and career.

Well done Dr Ola! We are very proud, and many congratulations 🥳

We are looking for a conscientious cleaner to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the GP surgery.

We are looking for someone with experience in domestic cleaning, preferably in a healthcare setting (though not always essential), who has a diligent and hardworking approach, with high attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
You would need to be reliable, honesty, and trustworthy.

Working Hours: 10 hours per week (Monday to Friday 17.30-19.30)

Salary: Competitive hourly rate; NHS Pension offered

Job Summary: To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the GP surgery, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
• Regular cleaning and disinfection of waiting areas, consulting rooms, reception, and restrooms.
• Vacuuming, mopping, and dusting all floors and surfaces.
• Replenishing and restocking toiletries and cleaning supplies.
• Adhering to strict infection control protocols and health and safety standards.

The surgery will be closed on Monday 25 August for the bank holiday. We’ll re-open at 08:00 on Tuesday 26 August.

❗️FLU and COVID Vaccinations 2025/2026❗️

The Department for Health have set out the criteria for who can be given the Flu and Covid vaccines. Please see below:

🟢 FLU (from October):
Pregnant women (these can be administered early September)
Nasal flu- children 2-3 and in at-risk groups from 6 months to 18 years (these can be administered early September)
At risk groups 18-64
65 and over
Residential and housebound
Immuno-compromised close contacts
Carers and frontline staff

🟢 COVID (*note, eligibility has changed from previous years)
75 and above
Care home residents in an elderly care home
Very high-risk group 18-64

We are having Saturday flu clinics during October, as well as Covid clinics throughout the week. More information on this will follow.
