My kind of fast food! When you don’t have much time, you can still eat healthy. This egg in a tomato is a great combination of fat, protein, and fiber, making it an eggtastic quick breakfast option. This is a super simple but delicious recipe that I always use. Hope you give it a try.
Ingredients:
2 Roma tomatoes 🍅
2 hard boiled eggs
Salt and pepper
Instructions:
Slice tomato longways. Empty it out. Cut your egg in half longways. Place egg inside the tomato. Season with salt and pepper.

With half term coming to an end our family is starting to get the holiday blues. Before leaving the Lake District we sat down and discussed our ‘highs and lows’ from the trip. It’s a tradition we have continued from before the boys were born and gives great insight into what is meaningful and special to them and what areas they struggled with.

We usually receive some unexpected answers, but we always spend time talking about each response and addressing why things were great and how we could change the lows for next time.

We give each child the time and respect they need to feel heard and appreciated. They love the discussion and we learn how to create lasting memories for us all.

Best of all, we finish on a positive note and say what we are looking forward most to in the coming weeks.

Probiotic and prebiotic basics - My gut health is super important to me and I love making my own kefir and fermented foods. Read on to see why you should be paying attention to yours too.

Probiotics
‘Good bacteria’ are live microorganisms that help maintain a healthy gut by reducing the number of ‘bad bacteria’ in our intestines.
🔹
Prebiotics
Non-digestible foods that probiotics can feed off. They are used in the gut to increase healthy bacteria, aid digestion and enhance the production of vitamins.

Numerous studies have shown links between gut health and immune system, mood, mental health, autoimmune disorders, endocrine disorders, skin conditions and cancer. The more diverse our gut bacteria, the better it is for our health.

High stress, too little sleep, eating high sugar foods and taking antibiotics can damage our ‘good bacteria’.

Prebiotics provide “food” meant to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut, while probiotics are live good bacteria.

Diet and gut health are very closely linked. Avoiding processed foods, high-fat foods, and foods high in refined sugars is extremely important to maintaining a healthy microbiome, as these foods destroy good bacteria and promote growth of damaging bacteria.
