This beautiful piece of artwork was passed down to me by my grandparents, and it now hangs quietly in my bedroom. Every time I look at it, I feel an immediate sense of calm… almost like the world pauses for a moment.
The soft colours, the still water, the old bridge — it gently reminds me to slow down and breathe. It brings a feeling of inner peace and stillness that is hard to put into words.
Sometimes we think meditation means sitting with our eyes closed in silence. But meditation can also happen with our eyes open. Simply looking at something that brings you calm can create the same sense of awareness and presence.
For me, this painting does exactly that. It’s a small daily reminder that stillness is always available — we just need to pause long enough to notice it.

🌿 Mindfulness Monday 🌿

It’s Monday – a fresh start to the week and the perfect time to slow down and check in with yourself. Today, try two simple mindful activities: one formal and one informal.

🧘 Formal practice:

Take 5–10 minutes for mindful breathing. Sit comfortably, close your eyes if it feels right, and focus on the sensation of your breath moving in and out. When your mind wanders (which it will!), gently bring your attention back to the breath.

☕ Informal practice:

Practice mindful drinking with your next cup of tea or coffee. Notice the warmth of the cup in your hands, the smell of the drink, the taste with each sip. Slow down and really experience the moment.

Mindfulness doesn’t have to take a lot of time – just a little awareness can make a big difference to your day.

✨ Which one will you try today?

Feeling overwhelmed by endless thoughts? Overthinking can steal our peace, energy, and focus. But there’s a simple, powerful tool to help: mindfulness.

Mindfulness is all about bringing your attention to the present moment—your breath, your senses, or the world around you—without judgment. By practicing it regularly, you can:

✨ Calm racing thoughts
✨ Reduce anxiety and stress
✨ Make clearer, more intentional decisions
✨ Feel more grounded and present in everyday life

Even just 5–10 minutes a day of mindful breathing or meditation can make a huge difference. Over time, your mind learns to let go of unnecessary worries and stay focused on what truly matters.
Start small. Start now. Your mind will thank you.

Let’s talk about one of the most freeing (and most challenging) mindfulness attitudes: Letting Go

Letting go doesn’t mean giving up.
It doesn’t mean you stop caring.
It means you stop clinging.

So often we hold tightly to:

• How we think things should go
• Conversations we wish went differently
• Mistakes we made last week (or 10 years ago)
• Expectations of ourselves and others

Mindfulness invites us to gently loosen our grip.
When we practice letting go, we notice the thought… the frustration… the tension… and instead of wrestling with it, we allow it to be there — and then let it pass.

Like leaves floating down a stream.

Every breath is a new opportunity to release: The need to be perfect

✨ The need to control everything
✨ The replay of the past
✨ The worry about the future

And in that space?
There is more calm. More clarity. More freedom.

Today, ask yourself:

👉 What am I holding onto that I’m ready to release?
Take one slow breath… and practice letting go.

Today I’m undertaking a training course with Alan Muskett on Burnout — something that’s becoming a huge issue for so many people right now.

I’m deeply committed to keeping my CPD up to date so I can continue offering the best possible support to the people I work with. This course will add even more tools to my wellbeing toolbox, helping me better understand, prevent, and support recovery from burnout.

Looking forward to bringing fresh knowledge, practical strategies, and renewed insight into my sessions 💛
If burnout is something you’ve been experiencing, you’re not alone — and support is available.
