Many students attending top Universities like Cambridge, suddenly find themselves in a situation where they’re used to being top of the class and recognised for their academic brilliance, to being one of many high achievers in the midst of fierce competition for top awards.

When everyone shines, it’s hard to see your own light.

We have recently discovered the Pegasus Scheme run by Cambridge Constabulary : for people who find it hard to communicate – They keep your pre-registered information safe on Police computer and they can access it quickly if you call them. You don't need to repeat all your details.

Who can register?
Anyone who has a disability or illness that may make it hard to communicate with the police in an emergency or difficult situation.
Anyone who lives in the local area. Please make sure that you contact Cambridgeshire police force. https://www.cambs.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/contact-us/sspegasus-scheme/pegasus-scheme/

How it works
Register your personal details, including your phone number, on the police systems so that anytime you call the control room they'll instantly see a Pegasus marker attached to your name or number.

This marker is opened by the call handler who can then see all your communication needs. This means that we can access your details even if you can't talk.
Alternatively, you can say 'Pegasus', tell them your PIN and they will access your details right away.
You can also show your card to a police officer, member of police staff or other emergency services staff if you need assistance in person and they’ll know you may need extra help and support.
You can change or update your details at any time.
If you agree, They will share your Pegasus information with other participating emergency services (fire, ambulance) and local authorities..

Find out how to join our Pegasus card scheme, which makes it easier for you to contact us if you have communication difficulties.
