From next week Singing Mamas Waterbeach will meet on Tuesdays, 10.30-12 in Waterbeach Barracks Community Room. New members are welcome so if you would like to come for a free taster please send me an email/message.

If you’re a mum looking for a new group for next half term Singing Mamas is open to new members. Group singing has so many benefits especially when you’re a new mum. You don’t need any experience of group singing to join in and obviously if you already love singing this is definitely the group for you. We sing for about an hour then I bring you a cuppa and a biscuit (or 2, or 3 - who’s counting anyway 😊) whilst you get to chat with like minded women.

Your first session is free and then you can either pay monthly or PAYG. There are concessionary and bursary places available for those who need them. In the news today is a study proving that group singing is an effective treatment for women suffering from postnatal depression. This is not news to Singing Mamas of course as this knowledge is at the heart of our movement and we witness the benefits group singing brings to mums every week in our groups. If you know of a mum who could benefit from Singing Mamas please help them find their way to their local group.

We have the following groups in Cambridgeshire:
Singing Mamas Waterbeach, Mondays, 10.30-12
Singing Mamas Cambridge, Thursdays, 10.30-12

Both of these groups have free places available for women facing financial hardship. Singing Mamas is also free to women who are 36+ weeks pregnant so they can begin building their support network prior to giving birth. This amazing community is here waiting for mums who need it so let make sure they find it.

New research suggests singing can be clinically effective at treating the symptoms and cost effective for the NHS.

This Sunday I’m offering a free singing session as part of the Summer at the Beach art festival at Waterbeach Barracks. Come and learn some fun, simple songs with me, enjoy the art and grab some delicious cake from the pop up cafe. All ages welcome - bring the whole family.

Singing Mamas starts back next week in Waterbeach on Monday and Trumpington on Thursday. Come and join us for a free taster. We enjoy an hour of relaxing and mindful singing followed by time for a cuppa and chat. Babies and children are welcome to attend with you but this group is all about you. Obviously if you know you enjoy singing this is the group for you but if you’re a bit unsure or just curious do come along and give us a try. There is no sheet music, no same old nursery rhymes, no pressure to sing everything perfectly. We sing for fun and connection and to soothe our nervous system.

Your first session is free and then you can choose to PAYG or pay monthly. Looking forward to singing with you. Email or message me if you want to know more.
