To you, this is just another โ€˜instagrammableโ€™ shot (no pun intended) of a quirky independent Manc coffee shop, that no-one asked to see & no-one wants to see.

But to me, itโ€™s my little โ€˜shotโ€™ of daily joy. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Anyone that knows me well, knows how much I LOVE MY COFFEE!

There is no life without coffee, itโ€™s my weakness, itโ€™s my strength, but most importantlyโ€ฆ itโ€™s my joy.

And guess what, you can & you should be allowing yourself these little โ€˜joys.โ€™ โ˜บ๏ธ

& any coach or diet or plan that tells you differentโ€ฆ is just bo****ks!

You donโ€™t need to give up the small joys that make up the big picture. ๐ŸŽจ

Find a coach and find a plan that understands balance, accepts imperfection & is patient.

& more importantly, allow yourself imperfection & balance. โค๏ธ

6 weeks until the half-marathon!

So a little update from me! The half-marathon training isโ€ฆ. SLOW! But guess what, I have a shift in perspective โ˜บ๏ธ

Last year it was all about training hard, hitting all of my runs, building up my endurance & letโ€™s face it, actually crossing the finish line.

Whereas 2024 has a different feel around it. ๐Ÿคช

For me, 2024 is going to be more about enjoying my training, finding fun ways to exercise, finding new communities to join and build.

& whilst I do love a good run, Iโ€™m definitely feeling into the new year, new me vibes. No more chasing numbers, no more chasing anything..

Anyone else feeling that vibe in 2024? Or am I just getting wiser in my old age ๐Ÿ‘ต

Have you gotten yourself into abit of a rut?
Has your training become repetitive?
Youโ€™ve stopped seeing those results?

Do not underestimate the power of nature. โ˜˜๏ธ

If youโ€™re feeling de-motivated, tired, or lacking in discipline. It could be that youโ€™re ready for a break.

& not the kind where you curl up on Netflix and smash a takeaway (I mean this can happen too butโ€ฆ)

Sometimes you just need a break from your routine, from your environment, from yourself. ๐Ÿ˜ด

There is literally no better way to re-inspire & re-align yourself than a winters hike.

The break from your normal routine tends to shrink your problems & help you to see the bigger picture. ๐ŸŽจ

The break from your training helps you to see what is lacking & that could be as simple as a exercise switch up, a new challenge or competition.

Or it could even mean that youโ€™re ready to focus your energy elsewhere & thatโ€™s okay. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Pay attention to yourself, your motivation, your thoughts, your attitude towards your day.

& most importantly, cut yourself some slack!

Letโ€™s talk about relationships. ๐Ÿ’”

Thereโ€™s a huge number of women who are struggling to mend their relationship to food. ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

We are a generation that has been falsely guided by restriction and rules, whether itโ€™s slimming world or weight watchers, 5/2 or Atkins..

And whilst for some of you, this might seem like a blast from the past, youโ€™d be amazed at how engrained it has become into our psyche ๐Ÿง .

But Iโ€™m here to tell you the truth ๐Ÿฅฐ

And as harsh as this might soundโ€ฆ if you want to improve your health & nutrition, you canโ€™t just sit back and expect someone else to do it for you.

Sadly, we live in a time when ultra-processed foods are heavily marketed and unbelievably deceptive. ๐Ÿคฅ

Weโ€™re told high protein, low sugar, low fat, high fibre, low calorie.. but all of it is simply just marketing. โ˜น๏ธ

So whatโ€™s the answer?

As with all of my content. Everything.. in moderation.

Iโ€™m not here to tell you that you can only ever eat wholefood, raw ingredient diets. ๐Ÿšซ

Iโ€™m not here to tell you that meat is going to kill your organs and sugar will kill your brain. ๐Ÿšซ

& I am certainly not here to tell you to stop enjoying that glass of red ๐Ÿท.

But I am here to tell you that there is a balance & honestly, it takes YEARS of practice to get even close to any sort of balance.. & even then, no-one really has it.

So whilst this might sound like a slightly negative post, itโ€™s really just to tell you to enjoy each day, each meal, each workout, each night out & find your inner balance โš–๏ธ

Luteal phase be gone! ๐Ÿ’ช

Recently I have noticed a shift in the fitness community. More and more women are raising awareness to the physiological lchanges that we experience each month ๐Ÿง .

& these changes can range from a bubble bath & bar of chocolate - to - complete mental debilitation. ๐Ÿฅฒ

Our energy is lower, hunger is higher, we carry more water weight, our ability to emotionally self-preserve is lessened, we crave foods we believe are bad for us, we can suffer from brain fog/increased anxiety & low moods.. I could go on but we get the point ๐Ÿ˜…

& with all this saidโ€ฆ month after month, I see my clients, my friends and myself go through the exact same battles. Whilst they may manifest differently, we all face the same resistance. ๐Ÿ’จ

So hereโ€™s to all the strong, independent & resilient women out there! Youโ€™re all doing amazing & never forget that! โค๏ธ

Donโ€™t get me wrong, her results are insane! But what is more insane is her attitude, her self-belief & her resilience. ๐Ÿ’ช

I have been working with this client for several months now & I am certain that she has changed her entire life.

& by life I mean, lifestyle ๐Ÿ˜‚ (Iโ€™m not that good!) but equally, to change your lifestyle.. for lifeโ€ฆ is to change the course of your life, right?

When this client came to me her goal was to improve her health, lifestyle and get herself into a good routine.

Mission accomplished โœ…

Once the routine was set, the results started to flood in & then her mindset shifted.

Instead of focusing on the wider picture, she started to set mini-goals: run a 5K, body composition goals & implementing new compound lifts. For anyone this can be scary! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

But she has continued to prove to herself that she is a boss ass lady, a strong independent women who can achieve anything she sets her mind too!

I canโ€™t wait to see what 2024 has in store for you & for us! I know youโ€™ll smash whatever goals you set! ๐Ÿค—

Reminiscing over the good old daysโ€ฆ intense daily training, intensively eating to fuel my body, complete inability to regulate my emotionsโ€ฆ what a dream ๐Ÿ˜‚

But in all seriousness, I did do it & could I do it again.. hell yes.. would I? HELL NO!

But the point is, you canโ€™t get there overnight & we focus way too much on the end goal when we should be focusing on the next day. โ˜€๏ธ

Itโ€™s time we slow down and start enjoying the process. Take it slow, make it sustainable, actually learn a few lessons along the wayโ€ฆ

The end goal isnโ€™t your dream bod, or the 110KG squat (although that would be sick). ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

The end goal is the patience, resilience and complete and utter humbling of it all.

๐Ÿ— ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐š ๐œ๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ข๐ซ ๐๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ก๐š๐›๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ.

This client came to me with a goal to feel healthier, get into better routines and develop some structure in her training.

So we worked on her nutrition, making some simple swaps and increasing variation in fruits & veggies. ๐Ÿฅ—

This client has one of the busiest lifestyles I have known and is out of the house for a minimum of 10 hours each day, so a gym membership was not the best solution here..

Instead, I developed a home plan for her to follow & she stuck the plan whilst maintaining a healthy balance of rest, social life & sleep. ๐Ÿ˜ด

This is a perfect example of the outcomes that can be achieved when you follow a structured plan.

There wasnโ€™t a huge weight loss goal here, but a goal towards a healthier lifestyle & just by making a few simple changes.. she saw the results she was hoping for!

So so proud of you! Absolutely smashed it ๐Ÿฅฐโค๏ธ

I really couldnโ€™t be anymore ready for Autumn. ๐Ÿ

For most, January signifies new beginnings, new goals, fresh starts.. for others, itโ€™s more around spring time.

But for me, itโ€™s Autumn, it always has been! Thereโ€™s just something about the colours, the cooling & the excitement of Christmas that fills me with energy every morning! ๐ŸŽ„

And I can tell you, if itโ€™s a toss up between starting your coaching plan on Autumn or January, Iโ€™d pick Autumn every time.

Thereโ€™s more warmth, more sunny days, more colours, usually more money & often more parties and events to help motivate us!

Letโ€™s face it, who doesnโ€™t want to FEEL fire at their Christmas & New Year celebrations ๐Ÿ’ƒ.

& why not head into the New Year with all those good habits already engrained into our lives.

Just a thought ๐Ÿ’ก.

Now officially taking on new clients! Yay! ๐Ÿ˜
