Happy International Women's Day to our wonderful colleagues.

International Women's Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for advancing gender equality.

2026 marks 115 years of IWD, each generation has built on the courage of those before it, pushing boundaries and redefining what is possible. This is a fantastic day to celebrate women’s achievements and also raise awareness of gender inequality that is still very present, despite the progress that has been made by previous generations.

QEQM Team Spotlight: Celebrating Excellence! ⭐

We were recently pleased to recognise three colleagues for their exceptional contributions to Estates operations. The award ceremony took place in the Estates office, attended by our General Manager, Darren Weeks, and Head of Estates, Joy Varghese.

Andy Stroud, Maintenance Assistant consistently exceeds expectations by supporting data collection, managing the store, completing PPMs, assisting technicians, and promoting safety. His positive, team-oriented approach makes him a valued team member.

Joaquim (King) Januario, Maintenance Assistant, completes all assigned PPMs promptly and to a high standard, and actively supports technicians across the site. He is proactive, hardworking, and consistently goes above expectations to assist colleagues.

Lyn Smith, Finance Partner, provides clear, up-to-date financial
insights that support decision-making. She is approachable and helps colleagues understand financial data with confidence.

Ramadan starts this evening and will finish March 19th. It is a significant time of the year for the Muslim community, marking a period of fasting, prayer, and self-reflection. During this time, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset.

It's a time for spiritual growth, increased charity, and deepening connections with family and community. For those observing, Ramadan can also bring a sense of calm and mindfulness. 2gether is pleased to welcome Manny Lewis and Paul Dillon-Robinson to the 2gether Support Solutions Executive Board of Directors.

Manny, who will chair the People and Service Excellence Committee, brings a wealth of experience from across both the public and private sectors. He has held senior leadership roles including Managing Director of Watford Borough Council, Chief Executive of the London Development Agency and Vice Chair of two NHS Hospital Trusts. Throughout his career, Manny has been known for securing innovative solutions and improving service delivery—always with a strong focus on people, performance, and long-term value.

Paul, who will chair the Audit and Risk Committee, brings extensive senior management experience across the public sector, training, and consultancy. He is a Chartered Accountant with an MBA and has worked with a wide range of complex organisations, including NHS Trusts and the House of Commons. For the last eight years he has been balancing public sector non-executive roles (Defra and the Ministry of Defense) with tutoring, training, writing guidance and carrying out governance reviews. His background gives him a strong understanding of governance, financial oversight, and risk management within highly regulated environments.

Thank you to the Friends of William Harvey Hospital for their donation of 15 brand-new portering chairs for use in the hospital costing approximately £12,000.

Charity manager Jill Barringer said: “These chairs are desperately needed at WHH due to the theft and damage of the last ones we purchased a few years ago.

“Thank you to moving and handling senior co-ordinator Sharon Rinsland, the Board of the Friends and 2gether’s Brooke Saxby and Kyle Davies for getting this project over the line.”

2gether Support Solutions warmly welcomes Jo Hills as the new Chair of 2gether Support Solutions, following the departure of George Jenkins OBE, who stepped down in the spring. Jo brings over 20 years of board-level and executive leadership experience. She has a strong record of building high-performing, sustainable organisations and improving service delivery with a clear social purpose.

Jo is a Fellow of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Chartered Management Institute. Her professional background includes senior roles at Deloitte, local government, and housing associations. She is particularly experienced in making the best use of estates and facilities, ensuring services run efficiently, meet high standards, and deliver excellent experiences for customers.

We also welcome Robert Musgrove, who joined the Executive Board as a Non-Executive Director in Common with the Trust on 1 May 2025. Robert is a Chartered Civil Engineer and holds an MBA from Henley Business School.
He has 25 years of experience leading transformation programmes in areas such as infrastructure, property, and sustainability—supporting clients including the Ministry of Defence, the Home Office, and the NHS. Robert currently works for IBM Consulting, where he is the UK Lead for Digital Real Estate and Sustainability.
