Interesting topic: ( for food / money nerds lol)
Ive always wondered, from a business stand point, how do corner shops still survive! Don't get me wrong, it's handy and all and it's epic to have local business, but with all these superstores about, how do they survive! Now of course the local business has to normally charge more than a supermarket, that's obvious and normal. I've just nipped around the shop, of which there's a choice of 4 in Cilfynydd.. And I just needed the good ole bread, but bought Mayo and bacon too 👀.
Whilst buying, I noticed the prices and couldn't help but to think about the difference between Sainsbury's and the local store.
The Mayo, £2.39 'Best buy' branded and Sainsbury's, £1. Now what comes next is the interesting part. Being the nerd I am, I read the ingredients to see if the money made a difference ( it does often in foods), turns out, both Mayo's are exactly the same, to go as far as saying, they could be the same Mayo manufacturer, as they are both made in Belgium too 😃.
Moral of the story, nothing inparticular, just fun to see, you could say;
👌 The convinience store saves you time and effort from not going to a super store, which some can't actually do even if they wanted too I. E. We need local stores!
👌 Check the ingredients on similar products you buy to become more aware.
👌 And don't always think more expensive is better ( although it normally is with a lot of foods lol, check the label!)
