📢 IMPORTANT PATIENT INFORMATION 📢

We have an important announcement to share with you. Commencing Thursday 8th January 2026, our surgery will be starting the process of migrating from our current Vision clinical system to a new clinical system EMIS (Optum).
This is a much needed and longed for change in clinical systems. It is hoped that the new clinical system will improve efficiency, streamline our processes and enhance patient care. As the demands on our services increase, we need a system that is robust and reliable, designed to reduce delays, improve safety, and enable clinicians to focus more on patient care.
EMIS clinical system is much more intuitive and easier to use than our current system, it supports primary care teams to make informed decisions about patient care, simplifies appointment management, enhances reporting and ensures seamless data sharing with other healthcare providers, ultimately helping practices deliver safer and more effective care.
Of course, changing systems is not without its own pressures as we navigate the new system, learning how to create new clinics etc. We will need to restrict access to our appointments. You will see that from the 8th January 26 we will be restricting appointments to Urgent only until we are confident that we have all the correct measures in place. We appreciate that we are asking a lot of you but we would be grateful if you could bear with us while we navigate the changes that are ahead of us. We will keep you updated along this journey.
Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated as we work to enhance our services for you. Thank you for your ongoing support.

REDLANDS SURGERY
How to order your repeat prescription
To ensure your medication is ready on time, please allow a minimum of 10 days from when you place your request to when it will be ready for collection at your chosen pharmacy.
•
The practice requires 5 working days to process your prescription.
•
Your pharmacy will then need time to prepare and dispense the medication.
Why not take control of your repeat prescription and request your medicines?
The easiest way to order your repeat prescription is via the NHS Wales app. To access the app, you must have a fully verified NHS login or a valid photo ID to prove who you are and be aged 16 or over.

1. Download the app by clicking the link below or visit app.nhs.wales
https://app.nhs.wales/login

2. Create your NHS login account

3. Log in via your NHS login account and manage your health from anywhere

4. If you need help or support using the NHS Wales app visit: apphelp.nhs.wales

You can also order repeat prescriptions online using the secure form on the practice website www.redlandssurgery.co.uk or you can request in person at the practice using the printed medication list which was attached to your last repeat prescription. Ask at reception if you need another copy.

Please note requests for repeat prescriptions are not accepted by telephone or email.
If you need to order early because you are going on holiday, please clearly state this to prevent any delay.

Everyone has a part to play to reduce medicines waste

Check what medicines you have at home before re-ordering more

Open your prescription bag - check your prescription bag before leaving the pharmacy to make sure that you only have what you need. If you return an item before you leave the pharmacy, the medicines can be reused.

Reduce waste with a conversation - Let us or your pharmacy know which medication you’re no longer taking and why. We can update your repeat list, so it reflects what you actually need.
